I think K'Jei can spell either of them pretty well. Banks should be on the floor most of the game, and they should look for him more offensively. First half today he didn't get a lot of looks. He's a bucket at just about any point if we need one69MG wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 6:40 pmI've said it before - I don't know why Brown doesn't play more. He and Placide would give us depth at the guard spots and keep Danny and Banks from getting worn down. Maybe he doesn't practice well and that is a red flag for Frank.DanaDingle3 wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 6:00 pm Looks like we have 6 reliable guys right now. Wimbley played a lot, but he doesn't look the part yet.
Donovan Brown looks impressive offensively whenever I see him. Not sure what's holding down his PT.
We desperately need Clerc and Luka to take a step forward.
Always nice to get a W.

Haha, in what context? Didn’t catch the game but we took care of business. 22% from 3 isn’t going to cut it against decent teams though.

Jay was referencing historical stats between UMass and Lowell and cited getting them from UMassHoops.
Def a nice reminder that people from the Department do in fact come here, and of the very good work Mike does.
With that said, not great that someone like Jay needs to go outside the Department to get info like that...
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

^Jay is a good dude for doing that. He should come post on the boards

Nice win today. Perhaps overlooked is that Wimbley was able to stay on the court for meaningful minutes. I think he may be starting to improve. We need improvement from the bench and he's the most talented with the highest upside, arguably.

I think that was a more result of the competition level. He still made a ton of mistakes.DoctorJ wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 4:40 am Nice win today. I'm trying not to be disappointed with Wimbley since he's a freshman and has only played a handful of games. He just doesn't look ready. I thought he was more polished coming in. That's ok though. He's learning, and the difference yesterday was that instead of only making freshman mistakes, he also made impactful positive plays. As he plays more, we hope that the balance will shift away from the mistakes and over to the positive plays.
He's basically our only backup for Jayden, so he's been forced to learn on the fly. He'll get there.

Nice win yesterday. If this team learns to play 40 minutes of basketball this is going to be a fun year. There has been improvement and the guys seem to be picking up on what they need to do, albeit slowly. The 3’s weren’t falling today but they found ways to score.
Kjei coming off the bench has been a great decision, he is becoming our version of The Microwave, Vinnie Johnson.
DJ looked comfortable out there today, great to see him earn more minutes. With the BC game and then the trip home for him to Florida State I hope it spurs him on to keep working hard and bring the energy needed off the bench.
Dimitri has shown some good qualities and looks as if he is starting to learn what is needed to play at this level but he has to stop playing defense with his hands. I saw Banks talking to him about it after one of his fouls.
Luka needs to develop a nasty streak, he understands the game and has skills but needs to get more aggressive.

Wimbley will be fine as he learns more. I think he's thinking too much instead of just playing. When it becomes more reactive to him, he'll be pretty good. Looks willing to take the instruction from teammates as well

Re: Game 9, 2025-26: Lowell (12/6)
We need Wimbley to be solid 7th man.
Re: Game 9, 2025-26: Lowell (12/6)
not sure Wimbley is the only back-up for Jayden. Placide might do nicely, although he needs to be healthy. Or could go small with Brown, Parker and Banks at the same time. But yeah, an obvious solution would be an improved Wimbley. The other big concern is a back-up for Leo, who needs to stay out of foul trouble.
Team shot 22% on 3s and still scored 80 points. 60 points by Lowell was the fewest points by an opponent yet. I'd like to think Coach Frank's defense has progressed. 7 blocks yesterday, way above the season average of 2. UMass with 5 players in double figures, and each of them looks like they could do that regularly.

Has anyone heard what's up with Placide? He hasn't been dressed the last two games. It's a shame, he looked good in his last game against Oregon St.bobolink wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 10:15 am ...Placide might do nicely, although he needs to be healthy..

They said it was a foot injury and he would likely miss BC too.Juice Stand wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 10:21 amHas anyone heard what's up with Placide? He hasn't been dressed the last two games. DHS’s foul shooting and touch around the rim was still an issue and may just be something we need to accept. With that being said he seemed more comfortable and aggressive than he had been recently, so I’ll take that as a good sign.
