Kent State

Per ESPN:

"Kent State fielded one of the worst teams imaginable in 2024, and that's not an exaggeration: Since the FBS/FCS split in the late 1970s (and not including the incomplete 2020 season), the only teams that graded out worse than last year's Golden Flashes are 2021 UMass, 2019 UMass and 2006 Temple. Kent State was 0-12 that year after going 1-11 the season before. Then Mark Carney was named the school's interim head coach mid-spring after Kenni Burns' firing. This seemed like just about the worst job imaginable, but if the Golden Flashes had eked out a win against either Buffalo (a 31-28 loss) or Ball State (17-13), they'd have ended up bowl-eligible."

We live in the richest (or 2nd-richest?) state in America, and with a relatively large population. We can get this done.

Also - I am surprised the 2025 team is not considered to have 'graded out worse' than either '19 or '21. Maybe the data was not yet available.

^ I referenced Kent St and Mark Carney in another thread as proof that it can be done with poor resources, first-time coach, and following multiple historically bad seasons. That is where we are now. Add in Thorr, an administrator that is fully committed to football and actually cares, and the excuses are all gone. Mora did it as an independent at UConn, and Carney did it in the MAC as an interim coach at Kent. We can do it too.
