Official visits are going on this weekend and the early signing day is Thursday so I would think he is safe. The guy inherited a mess and had to hire a staff and replace in the neighborhood of 50 players after taking over. Not excusing what we experienced this year but the guy needs a few years to build a foundation and get competitive. Some staff changes are very possible/probable.

That is revisionist history. It was not a complete mess. He was also the primary reason the players left. There are no more years to build a foundation.

For the folks that want Harasymiak fired, who do you want to replace him, and just as important, who do you think would be willing to come to a school with an FBS history of complete failure and firing their coaches every couple years.

I realize it was a historically bad season and a new low for a program that constantly finds new ways to lower the bar. I'm disappointed and frustrated with the whole thing, but I think moving on after one year does nothing to help, unless Bamford lands some miracle coach by accident.

I don’t want him fired. I don’t think he will be. My point was more about the climate of college football and how there is no time allowed to build from HS players, etc. if they are any good by year two or three, they will be poached. Speaking of poaching, I would love to see Anthony Rouzier get poached from Merrimack and come back to Amherst.

Nick Saban would not have been able to do anything with this group!
Give Joe & Thorr another year or two.if no improvements, then maybe bye bye Joe.

The issue is Joe assembled the group and spent a bunch of money doing it. So much money according to the AD that UMass was built to compete this year where it failed miserably. He does not get a pass on how he assembled the group.

That would be stupid. He should get to at least to show improvement in the first month next season.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Leave the A-10!

50 players left that’s a mess. Stop pretending there was talent here. This program has been a disaster since a Whipple left.

you saw what $2M buys you. $2M is retention money not buying money. Bamford throws around the NIL money like it’s some huge amount. Belichik had $20M and his program sucked. Stop buying the BS the AD slings around.

There was enough talent to compete in the MAC under DB. This team didn't even come close to competing aside from one conference game and against an FCS team in the bottom of its league. The losses were on poor coaching last year and the year before. 50 players left because coach Joe told them to leave or they went to off to greener pastures at better programs for the most part, DB likely could have retained them with the money Joe got. The mess he "inherited" was not as much of a mess until DB was fired and he was hired. The team Joe put together was made up of low level FCS transfers.

Teams that beat us, by a lot, had less money and similar turnover. They knew how to evaluate talent and coach to win. The NIL money for UMass is top of the line money for the league we won zero games in. We didn't lose zero games with Molnar or Whip in the MAC before, and the MAC is actually a worse league now, comparatively, to what it was back then.

I hear ya, and my post wasn't direct at anybody in particular, just a general question. Who do people want to replace Coach H, and who do they realistically think would want to come here? Although, it's probably not even worth asking or answering because it doesn't seem like he's getting canned.
