They did say through 3 quarters it was a game and
coach H does have some pieces to build on.
...........until they hit the portal on Feb 1st.
Do you really think the 3 freshman that started will hit the portal. Yes, we will lose players, every G6 team loses players. With injuries and if some of those season ending injury players are healthy, most will be back as they are flagged injury prone. It's a challenge and takes time to dig out of the hole. Hoping for some progress.
Dec 3-5 for early National signing day is important. Believe AI is wrong and the portal is the first week in January.
Be proud of the present and look to the future.

I am not sure anything can be predicted or assumed at this point. Every team seems to have unexpected turnover now - why would Umass be an exception to that?
I would hope that the staff has some sort of priority list of who they really want and need to stay and that they will have meetings with each of those kids pretty quickly after the season ends.....

I am trying to telepathicly talk to H. Build your offense with strong OL and everything will follow. This should be easy in the MAC for us..get offense to where we are 5 TDs+ and then just have a servicable defense. A strong OL contributes dramatically to team defense.

Does anybody have any faith in this guy going forward? This team is wretchedly coached.

I almost always give a pass to a new coach. However this team was so extraordinarily terrible that it is tough to have any confidence in Joe. Losing badly all year. Sadly this team could be under consideration for the worst FBS team ever.

Even if they were to move on from Joe after 1 year (they shouldn't...), the problem is still at the top of the Department.

Under consideration? No, it has to be the literal worst FBS season ever. There has to be accountability. I’m willing to give Coach H one more year on a short leash, but I want to see new coordinators and definitely a new AD.

After this many coaches in BBall and football, the powers to be have to start realizing, it's not the coaches. There is one common denominator here.

It is both the person picking the coaches and the coaches he has picked.

Correct. I have to admit that I'm disappointed in Joe's coaching this year, but it's year 1 and like others, I'm inclined to give him a pass and reevaluate next year. I am not a fan of the coaching carousel. What do people think the pool of candidates will be like for this program? If Joe wants to be here and shows even modest improvement (2 wins? Not getting blown out every game), I'm willing to ride with him. Let him settle in, get the right assistants, work with Thorr, and build this up.

I’ve been of the opinion for awhile that he’s not the guy. No team should be this bad with even average coaching.

100%. Even washed up Don Brown was competitive in most games last year. This year was a train wreck. The amount of stupid undisciplined penalties was the worst part. I get we are bereft of talent but you can still play smart football. So many dumb late hits and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. That’s completely on coaching and preparation in practice.

This year sucked but Carvy only won 5 games in his first year and Cal struggled in his first year as well.
The roster was bad. I'd like to see what it looks like next year when he had a full recruiting cylce.
Obviously a lot of other issues the program has to get fixed as well which are beyond the coach's control.
Give WBB more money.
