Cleveland is a pretty underrated city. Stop there for a night on my drives from Mass to Michigan. I know we shot a bad FT %.. but if the FT were equal, even at the same % we win. Was it more about how the teams played or the calls?
2nd Cleveland not being a bad spot... my only trip there was the year the Sox played Cleveland in the playoffs and Brady was returning from the suspension. Expected it to be a massively depressed rustbelt city like Buffalo only to find it was a million times better. Still not a fan of the MAC decision for the move, but the Tournament being in Cleveland isn't one of the reasons.
That said... today was the little things, mainly FTs. That, of course, is a reoccurring theme. Tough to win close games when shooting that poorly from the line.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Franks teams don't respond to his rants like they once did years ago and that may be big problem this year.

I have a lot of complaints about how Frank coached today, but I'll just say that I'm very close to wanting to get off the Frank Martin express.

The last 4+ minutes took 28 real life minutes. What a joke.

I was away all day so I didn't see or hear the game. All I could do was look at the box sore. We beat them in every phase of the game except 2, turnovers and free throws. I'm not even concerned about about the t/o disparity. 29 free throws to 13, however, is a big number. My fear going into the game was our lack of interior defense and rim protection. Did they just drive to the hoop all game and get fouled?
Anyhow, we can beat Green Bay and hopefully beat whoever we play in the last game. 2 out of 3 will be an OK result for me even though it looks like this is a game we could have won.

If everyone on this team played with the intensity and intelligence of Jayden we’d be fine

This was a pathetic loss. The Frank Martin era can’t end soon enough. I don’t want to spend another second debating why we lost a game here or there or what mistakes they’ve made, all you need to know is that we’re headed towards a third bad or middling season for 3 out of Frank’s 4 seasons here.
Maybe I’ll get sucked back in soon, or maybe during the MAC tournament, but I’m not so sure, I might just sit this out until next season or even until Frank is gone.

I'm not ready to jump off the ledge yet.
Danny and Wimbley are still just getting used to college basketball. If those two can develop over the OOC, it could make a world of difference.
The bench is the problem and the bench is full of players with little or no experience in D1 basketball. Let's see how they develop. Frank doesn't have a magic wand to turn people into mature and experienced players.
We have two more games this weekend. Let's try to get some enjoyment out of it.
Refuse To Lose!!!

My biggest concern with Frank is I’m not convinced players get better under him

AGREED. the final record may turn out ok at something like 18-13 and would be enough to keep him around. No way we should have lost that game yesterday

When you have most of your players for only a year, its kinda hard to judge this. I was thinking after this game. If we were still in the A10 would the talent on the team be any different. I don't think it would. If this team isn't in a good position come MAC tourney time and has no buzz.. he's gotta go. RB will survive another coach. I know many out there think Thorr will replace RB... I don't think he does. I think Thorr is perfectly happy to not deal with being an AD anymore and gets to concentrate on the sport, school, and team he loves.

Should of won that game. Hopefully this isn't the first of many we say that
It's already the second one in this young season. We doinked 15 free throws in a 6-point loss to Marshall.

Not really. The refs were whistle happy all game, calling ticky tack fouls under the hoop and Charleston was in the bonus very early because of it. They called it tight both ways, the difference is Charleston made their free throws and we didn't. Part of the disparity in attempts is that we missed, I think, 4 front ends of 1-1's. If you make those, you get another 4 attempts. There was no flow to the game because of all the whistles. It was a long game and pretty tough to watch.
