^ Yeah, I hate to admit that I can't give him a pass this year either. I loved the hire, and still think he can be good for us, but there have been in-game decisions that I thought were poorly done, his lack of accountability with his staff (remember "I'm going to make some hard decisions that will make me unpopular" that seemingly never happened?), and the terrible on-field results, even by UMass' standards have significantly shortened the leash.

Next year is definitely a win-now year. He'll have the full recruiting cycle, an offseason to evaluate his staff, a deputy AD with an office in the building, the NIL budget which is supposed to be even bigger, and of course, who can forget about all that glorious MAC revenue. Does win-now mean 6, 7, 8 games? No, it means ≈4. That's a big leap to take from whatever this year has been.

This is not a bad take and while I'm a bit forgiving, respect this view. Re-thinking should not have said a pass, but will judge next year. 'Cause they are all new and even coaching staffs take time to jell. Four wins will be great. Can it happen, idk, but hope so.

Here’s a fun thought experiment: what would our record be this year if we had hired Neal Brown?

Probably not 0-10.

ZooMass is the only other person that would have screwed up that Buffalo game finish.

Is he holding out for another better HC job, not having to pay a buyout? Or are we just that much of a dumpster fire that he doesn't want to hurt his reputation after the just over .500 run he had at WVU?
I can't say I blame him for just taking the texas special assistant position for only $45K a year when West Virginia owes him $10 million over the next 3 years minus any salary.

UMass continues to play the dumbest brand of football in the country. The team is a direct reflection of its head coach. But sure let’s keep excusing him because they had some injuries. No other team has to deal with injuries in football

The team showed spirit and has not given up on the coach. Do have hope for our future with Joe. He is our coach, Thorr likes him. Was at pool and only watched with no sound until the phone died at the end of the 3rd quarter. Did get home and catch the last bit on CBS Sports. They did say through 3 quarters it was a game and coach H does have some pieces to build on.

It does seem like week after week the announcers on broadcasts talk up Coach Harasymiak. Either they all know something I don’t and things are going to improve, or maybe our athletic department is asking them to say nice things.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Or, hate to say it, they were auditioning for their next team. They had emotion and fire for the first time in a long time.
