I told you Dru DeShields would go off. We make every QB look like Patty Mahomes. If we lose to Sacred Heart next year the program should be immediately shutdown.

We were terrible in basketball in the early 80’s but 15 years later we were a final 4 team. Glad I experienced the 90’s. also won a FCS championship back then. Guys my age won’t be around to see a resurgence. Hope you younger guys see one down the road.

I'll keep it short and simple. I'm not going to talk about the last 13 years, the stadium or any aspects other than players and coaches.

Looking forward, I give them (administration, state government, whomever else you want to include) 2 more years to put a respectable product on the field. If it doesn't happen, and I can't believe I'm saying this, drop football.

Do not spend 1 cent on the stadium until the 2 years is up. Save that money for other sports.

That's it. I don't have answers and I'm not sure there are any.

As the upcoming documentary says, we caught lightning in a bottle in landing Calipari, and the rest is history.

For football to get respectable, we either throw a lot of money at the problem, or get lucky with an up and coming coach.

I think Bamford must be gone Monday which will give them 6 weeks to hire new AD and let them make the call on coach H

I see your proposal and raise you. They get until the end of the 2026 season in my book.

Tough loss and I'm not seeing improvement. A new AD W/successful FBS background is needed to direct the upcoming investment in the program. Bamford can't be trusted w/those decisions. Commit to continuously improving and building a winning program.

Coach Joe on the radio post-game;

"I'm going to have make some decisions that will make me unpopular and not have time to explain. They have to be done for the people that support this program.

Some players and coaches are not up to the job that it's going to take."

Also:

"I apologize to anyone who has ever worn this jersey and those that support our program. That was an embarrassment. That was an ass kicking. I apologize. It's on me."

By his tone of voice, he was NOT joking around.

I started going with an alum friend to the homecoming games in 1965 and we got season tickets in 1969 when he moved back to the Berkshires. This is the WORST team I have ever seen in all those years. Hope coach can find somehow to get the program fixed soon.

I truly believe we are just a $50 million dollar investment away from being a bowl team....it's guar-an-teed!

Unfortunately football, unlike hoop, needs more than 2 or 3 big time players to turn things around. While I like the idea of building with 4 & 5 year players, in this NIL world, kids bounce so much I wonder if its a good path. Starting to believe its not meant to be at UMass, as sad as that is.

With basketball, one or two coaches and a couple great recruits can turn it around.

Football, we exist in a terrible recruiting area, have a terrible facility, no fan-base, and you need 10 underrated recruits to even sniff being a team that wins 4 games. This body is dead.

Correct. We just need more investment and a better stadium. Plus, MAC move was a game changer. Brought us stability.
