Is anyone going to address the elephant in the room in regard to Diggins and his eligibility?

On the last mass co call Pat said they wouldn’t find out until July or August if his waiver went through but they just posted the roster and both number 3 and 7 are taken.🤷🏻‍♀️

Well….if he gets a waiver and comes back….he can wear 37.

It's not about a jersey number, it's about whether or not there's a scholarship to give. He's not going to play as a walk on.

We have a million guards that are coming here for 1 year as it is already. Even if he got the waiver and there was a scholarship available, he wouldn't be playing for Umass. I hope for his sake he gets it. They've been so loose with a lot of this stuff since COVID it would be a huge overcorrection at this point.

So apparently 'Sool was participating in the Danny Rumph Classic in Philly

I don't know anything about this beyond what I'm seeing on their site. Seems he was playing for the "Rumph Center" team. They won an earlier game but lost yesterday. Sool scored 5 pts and stole 4 in the loss.

In that video clip on X, 'Sool said something about his first time playing pro, so maybe he did get denied for another year of college eligibility, and the transfer portal from earlier this spring ended up being moot.

Article about Diggins after a game in the Rumph Classic. He says he is talking to London teams and hoping the film from the classic will give him some exposure to Euro scouts. Looking for a G league chance.

Diggins was on campus yesterday for Homecoming. Nice to see him around.

I still want to know the whole story. There has to be more to it.

I assumed there is no story. He exhausted his eligibility, so he's done playing. His first season was in 2021, so he's not a beneficiary of the free Covid year. Is there an argument for additional eligibility?

He only played in 9 games his first year at UConn so I think he was trying to get that year retroactively redshirted.
