It's a highlight video from last season, so we only see the good stuff. But the good stuff is pretty good!

We're getting a nice international flavor these last couple years. If Fran Fraschilla likes him, I'm on board. Welcome to UMass, Heimer!

A new offer.
https://x.com/TrashaunPierce/status/1974543547404878044

A quick search shows he’s a 6’8” F who comes from Norman, OK. He is a solid offensive player who prides himself on his defense. One of the top players in Oklahoma during HS, was a candidate for player of the year in his division and was also Co-Defensive POY. He had a good freshman year in JUCO and was a standout at two summer JUCO events.

Class of 2026 G Jahda Swann @Jahdaswann4 of Thomas Jefferson will visit UMass next weekend and Hofstra the following weekend, per coach Bud Pollard
From what I saw, his visit is now scheduled for 10/10 and I hope he takes it. He was offered by Kansas and Providence in May. It makes me wonder why he is visiting UMass and Hofstra? Maybe playing time? I wonder if he knows Danny? Both NYC kids.

Possibly. It’s so different now with the portal, the big schools can buy someone to play over you after you commit. If you go to a non P4 you can earn playing time and in a couple of years if you’ve had some success you can get a payday. In some ways it’s not much different than hockey with the exception the hockey players are going to actual professional hockey. He would be an incredible addition though so here’s hoping.

LETS GO!

He had offers from UCF, Mississippi State, and Dayton. Visited Duquesne and Wyoming.

^ Nice interview, he seems like a well spoken kid that likes to be coached. How about this:
Helgason brought his parents with him, and they all felt the city of Amherst could be a home away from home.

“We loved everything,” he said. “I liked Amherst because it’s not a big city, but it also has a lot to offer. Basically anything you need. It has a small town feel, kind of like back home in Iceland. I liked the trees and views in some parts.”
I thought you couldn't recruit to Amherst? Hogwash, I say!

No no, you got it all wrong, the MAC is destroying UMass recruiting, not Amherst.

Whatever the case, I like this guy's thinking. He likes to eat, and he likes some of the views in Amherst.
