Just read about the VA Tech coach firing. Article said it was due to "unacceptable results on the field". If we fired coaches because of that we'd be on our 14th coach since 2012.

^ Or maybe not, if our coaches knew that “unacceptable results on the field" were actually unacceptable.

Only Whipple would have definitely made it more than 1 full season, and maybe Don Brown.

I know everybody is super disappointed including me. Bryant should have been an easy win. Let's see what happens after the Missouri blowout.

8 conference games and there's a chance for a win or two. Retired Apple exec Dan Riccio just made a $50M donation, maybe some of that $$$$ will go to sports and football NIL.

Ummm, no. That is going to the College of Engineering.

Which means money earmarked for projects that this now funds can be spent elsewhere….it won’t be athletics…..I agree.

I mean this is the season right here. If we lose all 3 games, then there is no hope. 1-2, okay at least we have a MAC win in the books but whatever, did we at least show progress. 2-1, we would all be pleasantly surprised and pleased. 3-0, pipe dream.

Taking money away from the College of Engineering for other purposes defeats the purpose of the donation. I'd hope that guy has it written in that his donation is on top of current level investments into the Engineering department.

Just had surgery and hope the pain medicine leaves my remarks in the correct intent. I agree with innervision. When you give money, the peanut gallery has no right to repurpose their money!donation. Now don't clear remember the pieces, but it went into 4 or 5 buckets. One was combining/developing across colleges.

For the love of good, what gives people the right to tell a donor how the money is spent. He gave thought and purpose to his donation and some make comments without doing any homework and watch the video about his donation.

The donation is primarily funding new scholarships. Sounds like it was a proposal in the works and a need the school shared. Not sure how much they offer now. My point was that this is a new initiative that the school may have intended to fund partially until he came along to fund the whole thing.

Ya, and i should have said that I'm greatful he gave back to the university for a purpose close to his heart and accomplishments.

Peace all and hope that we get out of the next game with few injuries and all our players are on the mend.

Also grateful we have a second seaon with MAC play. The coaching staff and players are a work in progress and did like the adjustments. Just don't know how dependent we are on MaGee. Was he the one taken out of the Bryant game for targeting. Seems BigTen refs let more go than the MAC. While not liking the call in the Bryant game, do like the intent of the MAC refs protecting the players.

He definitely should throw a mil to football along with this 50M.. it is an important part of becoming a top 10 Public U (this is where UMass will be soon)

Hate to say this but statistically (going by various ratings Massey's etc)........we might have to wait until next year for that football victory). We're not favored in ANY contest.....Not even sure about next year: Sacred Heart is 2-1 and beat LIU who beat Eastern Michigan. Hope Rene Ingoglia isn't correct in his prediction that UMass could lose the next 99 games and he'd still be a fan. Don't we win a game by a fluke or something? Their team bus breaks down or something?
