Re: Game 3, Sat 9/13 at Iowa
I had considered going to Iowa game.
Could fly out to S MN where Mrs SM is for a couple of weeks and drive to the game. Unfortunately, my fave Prof @ UF re my MBA 55 years ago, who left to go teach @ Iowa and offered me to come with him to get a PhD in Quantitative Analysis, passed on in his mid 80s earlier this year...would like to have gone to the game with him.
I think we could get corned on Saturday.

Sorry to hear that, that would have been nice. Did you ever get that PhD in Quantitative Analysis?SignMan wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:42 pm I had considered going to Iowa game.

I’ll be there Saturday and will sprinkle some QA dust on the field for you and his memory.SignMan wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:42 pm I had considered going to Iowa game.

UMass over 7.5 points +380
UMass over 0.5 touchdowns +185
These are some juicy odds for UMass

Looking back, probably should have gone there, got it, and go on to be a uni Prof.
I guess it may have been something to have been offered two PhD programs in two different disciplines;
the other in Investments @ UNC...again, an offer from a UNC Prof who was teaching an Investments course @ UF on weekends, after the Prof who was supposed to teach it normal days took a last second offer and accepted a govt appt in Tallahassee.
My dream was to go on with my education @ the London School of Economics. Would I have been accepted? Don't see why not with support from several of my MBA Profs. Unfortunately, the London School was closed then re Vietnam War protests.
The only other school I considered was The Sorbonne. That couldn't be because I couldn't speak the French.

Just made a dinner reservation for tomorrow at a local place that carries the Big Ten Network. No way was I investing in some streaming package just to watch this one game. Maybe we can keep it close for the first quarter??

Anybody ever been to the Field of Dreams? I've been within 20 miles of it a few times but I was just passing through so never made it there. Gotta get there at some point. That's my analysis of this game, just try not to get too many injuries and go into the bye week.

Ya, it's pick your poison with streaming or cable packages. Youtube is expensive at $83, but has just about every sports channel, EXCEPT NESN. The game will be recorded and will pickup and speed through commercials after getting back home. Just want to see different combinations and some better execution. When we get to MAC play, want to see AJ at QB. There have been a number of teams without a decent defense, but have done well with a good offense and MACtion.photoman wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:24 pm Just made a dinner reservation for tomorrow at a local place that carries the Big Ten Network. Are you sure that you don't have B1G network? it's part of my Comcast package.photoman wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:24 pm Just made a dinner reservation for tomorrow at a local place that carries the Big Ten Network. I tried my b1g network channel on Xfinity but it is not part of my package. Workaround that looks like is included with my package is this:Old Cage wrote: Sat Sep 13, 2025 10:10 amAre you sure that you don't have B1G network? it's part of my Comcast package.photoman wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:24 pm Just made a dinner reservation for tomorrow at a local place that carries the Big Ten Network. Download fox sports app on Roku (or whatever your smart tv device is), login with your Xfinity login on the app. This worked for me and I can watch the B1G network on the fox sports app.
