I'm assuming there is no news yet because the players know there is more money in play... probably going through discussions with the Department/MassCo first.

I hope that is not the case.... If you (they) are only playing here for the money after the season this squad just put up, don't offer almost any of them anything.


I suppose there is one bright side to this, if you have a player that you feel is not s good fit or is just not performing as expected, all you have to do is not offer them any money and they will leave.

I'm not at all suggesting those discussions will result in the full team running it back. There's two sides to those discussions, of course. But if these players aren't seeing larger money options elsewhere, why wouldn't they wait a bit to see how the conversations play out here first?

I do not disagree, but if they are not (seeing larger money options), what does that tell you about this roster? Ugh....

Oh BTW, this roster which (by NET rankings) puts UMass 6th in the MAC this year. But you know, less than 2nd place will be disappointing next year .

He was a top 20 recruit - I am surprised by his struggles. Bring him back home - I'd gladly take him at UMass.

The only blank slates are UMass, Loyola and St. Joes.

We are not supposed to compare ourselves to MAC because We are somehow better than that, and should be more concerned with conferences that are 15-18 spots higher in the NET rankings.
