Bob Marcum?
He supported a move to 1-A. He was a great AD and passed last year at age 87.
Bob was generally a pretty good AD here, but he did nothing to pivot the success the Department was seeing into a move up.

MAC men's hoop tourney starts next week.
As part of cutbacks due to COVID, the MAC streamlined their tourney format. Only the top 8 teams qualify, the rest stay home.

Not sure what they're going to do next season with 13 members, but I expect they'll keep the same format and the 5 bottom finishers stay home. 2026 goes back to 12 with NIU leaving.

I like that. Puts a premium on the regular season.

Oh, great. Now we can begin early worrying about even making our league's playoff next year.

It'll be interesting to see if 1-seed Akron holds serve and wins it. If they get upset in the final, not sure their NET (98 as of today) would be good enough to get 'em an at large into the NCAAs. They might get bumped to the NIT. They'd almost certainly get bumped to the NIT if they don't reach the final.

Watching the MAC tournament. Sure looks like they have a lot more people at the game than what I’ve seen at the A10’s.

Yes, they have a great turnout. We all know the MAC does not have the depth of the A10. Besides liking the universities, curious if there is quality basketball at the 4th and 5th seed level. Going to tune in now.
Akron cremed BG and next game is now scheduled for 1:30PM

Thanks for the update. I'm going to tune in at 1:30 for the 4/5 matchup between Ohio and Toledo.
For reference, UMass is 220 net. Ohio is 175, Toledo is 240

MAC does it right by only having the top 8 teams go to the conference tourney. I think that makes the games more exciting than a longer drawn out 4 or 5 day tournament.
Give WBB more money.

If we finish 9th in that league there would be much larger issues to address with the program than not getting to play an extra game in Cleveland.

Looking forward to the MAC tourney in Cleveland! Maybe will have a chance to see the Cuyahoga River catch fire again! Would love to see Kill the Irishman Movie Tour if they have one!
