Agree. The program is broken. The coach is terrible, the collective seems inconsequential in terms of ROI (I can’t speak for McMurphy’s attendance), and we are downgrading to the MAC (rather than setting a high bar) in order to support a shitty football program. Losing Jayden and DHS from a talent perspective would be unfortunate, but it doesn’t matter. Frank and Bamford are both collecting fat paychecks at this point. This is the first off-season ever that I simply don’t give a shit. See you in Ypsilanti! Fucking unbelievable.GOODY wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 7:20 pmDoesn’t matter !inthescoop wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 5:49 pm I wonder who will enter the transfer portal in the next 48 hours

Can we just please fire Frank, fire the new MAC-FBS Johnny Bravo before he gets started, fire Bamford, and hire Carvel to run all sports? Honestly, it just comes down to a competent manager with passion and some competitive chops. I don’t care if Carvel doesn’t know the first thing about football or hoops, I PROMISE you he’d have better records than Frank or anyone during the FBS nightmare. No Peter Principle with that dude. He’d figure it out and win. Done.

So glad its over!...Seems like nice bunch of players personally...but how we must have set the NCAA record for fouling 3 point shooters and dribling nowhere.

^ yep, head down dribbling, horrible telegraphed passes, and literally just throwing the ball at the basket. I couldn’t believe some of the shots I saw this season, particularly from one player. That combined with Frank’s horrific clock management and pouting sessions while the game drifted. Absolutely remarkable that this man made $1.8m, his assistants drew decent salaries, and players collected NIL contracts. Absolutely wasted money. Alumni, students, Court Club members, and Collective contributors alike should all feel completely ripped off and offended.

1.. do you have the pdf of his contract?fenway617 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:49 pmFiring him will never happen. His contact states that if he is fired by UMass for a reason other than for cause, he would be paid 100% of the total value of the contract, plus between $1 million and $4.5 million depending on how early into the contract he is let go. His contract runs through the 28-29 season at over $1m per year so in addition to owing him the value of the contact left which is over $4M, he'd also get close to another $4m on top of that.stevemaz wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 5:52 pm Please do the right thing and fire FM. it doesnt matter what it costs.. Umass isn't paying him $8m+ to leave!
2. this is why bamford needs to go, these guranteed contracts at umass are a joke!

Whoever agreed to this from the UMass side is a fucking idiot and should lose their job.fenway617 wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 9:34 am If he is fired by UMass for a reason other than for cause, Martin would be paid 100% of the total value of the contract, plus between $1 million and $4.5 million depending on how early into the contract he is let go

well fire him cause he sucks.. I would just say his performance was so awful this past year that he doesnt deserve a dime.. to me there is no way he gave it the effort that is required.. giving scholarships to guys who cant shoot..i.e . are not basketball players..fenway617 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:49 pmFiring him will never happen. Re: Game 32, 2024-25: La Salle (A10 1st Round)
Went down to A10 tournament for UMass/Lasalle game out knowing it would be my last A10 tourney. Didn’t renew my season tickets or go to any games prior to and I am glad I didn’t after witnessing in person an incredible display of downright shit basketball. How is it possible that we had four players in Diggins, Curry, Ndique and Hankins who didn’t step up to a higher level this year! Diggins 20 pt avg is misleading because he had really great games and really shit games. In the end, Frank is responsible because it’s his team and his product. By not recruiting a scoring big man and the returning players I mentioned not upping their game in productivity or consistency, is it really a surprise we sucked! As I have said in the past, Umass should do some organizational research on how Dayton, VCU, Bonnie and other year to year successful programs in the A10 keep it going while we have floundered miserably since Cal left nearly 30 years ago. We can’t continue to live in the past expect Marcus Camby and Lou Roe to walk though the door (sounds like a Rick Pitino line when he was a Celtics coach). Let’s find a new way at UMass because what we’re doing ain’t working!

Agree...FM should be fired as well as Bam Bam. Bam Bam has almost zero success stories in his UMass time. He did work hard, though, to align us with a lesser conference!
