I know we are not a Southern School, but Clemson is the Granddaddy of them all. IPTAY started meaning “I Pay Ten A Year” and has evolved to a larger money through time.

While they love their Alums money , don’t worry if you aren’t old enough to be a college graduate , because they have ways to grab your money, too.

IPTAY Collegiate Club: $40 per year for current Clemson students, or $150 for all four years
Tiger Cub Club: $40 per year for children ages birth–12, or $500 for a one-time sustaining membership
Cats Club: $30 per year for members ages 12–18

You also had to belong to IPTAY to buy tickets or even send your children to coaches summer sports camps!

Just like club seat season tickets at Gillette required a donation to minuteman club but non club seats did not. BC’s cheapest season ticket price was cheaper than UMass’ as recently as two or three years ago when they offered a season ticket package for $99/ticket. Haven’t checked since.
They required a donation for parking in the past. Do they not do that anymore? Whenever they play ND at home they force four figure donations for the ticket and five figures for parking (to tailgate). The donation for Putnam club seats was minimal. That is my point. UMass can't go the way of forcing four figure donations from the die hards.

Don't have a problem with the donation levels as said the $1,500 level had been the same for nearly 25 years, the new era of NIL and NCAA settlement are driving these changes. Posting a sample donation that added to post #1.
Image
My plan donation will be $2,600. and 4 season tickets.
4 Gridiron tailgate passes
2 Hunt Hospitality Passes
1 Lot 11 pass

Thinking is 2,500 Football and 100 unrestricted.

To one of the Blues Brothers, there NO donation required to buy tickets at UMass.

Maction in November! That’s pretty cool. If I was a student, I’d be pumped to go to a week night football game on campus. Tough playing back to back big boys in September, at least there’s a bye week in between. Temple opener is a fun start to the season. Let’s go coach Joe! Hopefully a 2-2 start going into league play.

I long for the days we are no longer the home teams' Homecoming games.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

UM is probably taking that approach to build a marketing list of prospective ticket buyers.

That was my thought as well.

Considering they have not done much if any direct marketing over the last five years, this would be a good step.

UMass's sad FBS history

Post by econalum » Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:21 pm

I just saw this, IMO it's hard to argue against the facts there.

Congratulations, it only took you a week to see this, even thou it has already been posted on this forum, perhaps by LS71.

This is the NEW UMass, which will correct the decade plus miss fires. Not funding and being in a conference were major contributing factors in a tiny head coaching candidate pool. Our candidate pool was a HC with ZERO head coaching experience or former HC. Playing multiple body bag games and under size lineman along with other past challenges lead to the above past.

Joining the MAC with it's media, CFP, and bowl access will provide the athletic department revenue to fund football and the entire athletic department. The quality of the new football staff, recruiting NIL, and media exposure will shape the NEW UMass.

We are joining the MAC. We know from watching Kent State advance and compete in the NIT, Buffalo women defeating us and now advancing to the WNIT Final 4, have quality teams. Hockey is not a MAC sport, but like us, some MAC teams have high quality programs. Western Michigan defeated us in the NCAA Regional Finals.

This is a new season and a break from the past.

Spring Game is April 19th for our glimpse of this transformation.
Be proud of the present and look to the future.
