2025 Recruiting
Re: 2025 Recruiting
whoever Big Jelly is, not Timberwoves 6th man winner Naz Reid, if he creates lots for winning UM team, he could become the toast of the town.
The angle of incidence = the angle of reflection: REBOUND!

Story on Osman from a new website called Minuteman Command: https://www.minutemancommand.com/p/hoop ... an-excited
He only moved to Washington a couple of years ago. Originally from Sweden, so the New England weather shouldn't bother him at all.

Frank doesn't BS recruits. He doesn't promise playing time to anybody. If you want to play, you'll have to earn it.“He (Frank) said, I'm going to have to earn everything and the work is going to show itself. He said the guys who work out a lot and show that they want to work, they play.”
Re: 2025 Recruiting
It looks like Frank is working on rebuilding the roster. 2 commits so far and 2 other recent offers. Today's is the #3 player in CT and he plays for St. Thomas More so he's playing against some high-level competition. I would still like to see a center from the portal, but it's early for that to happen. Here's the latest offer:
New England Recruiting Report NERRHoops @NERRHoops
Brandon Benjamin has been a weapon for St. Thomas More this season.
The unsigned 2025 offers a ton of defensive versatility in the frontcourt with his 7’1+ wingspan and mobility.
Plays with a running motor, rebounds, and gets to the basket.
Brandon Benjamin 6’8 Forward, St. Thomas More:
Benjamin is a tenacious rebounder who is able to score in the lane with his size and soft touch. His 7-2 wingspan allows him to play up to the power forward position and fight with centers for position down-low. The mobility and athleticism he brings to the floor makes him a versatile defender and able to switch onto bigger/smaller players.

Glad to see Frank finally made an offer to this young man. Don’t like putting expectations on these young guys but having watched him a few times he reminds me of my all time favorite Minuteman Harper Williams. This kid is very active and never stops.69MG wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:57 pm It looks like Frank is working on rebuilding the roster. 2 commits so far and 2 other recent offers. Re: 2025 Recruiting
An interview with Bilal's coach. Of course, he is all in on Bilal. I hope Bilal is 75% of the player the coach talks about. I can think of 2 other "can't miss" 3-point shooters that couldn't shoot when they got here; Tyrn Flowers and Robert Davis. We all know how Robert is doing since he left here. Flowers had 2 great years at LIU and 2 mediocre years.

Re: 2025 Recruiting
Very excited about the future of UMass hoops and Frank Martin. From the first game, knew we'd have some shooting issues. We can still finish 500 in league play, which was my hope, perhaps better. The team is getting better despite DC bring stronger and shooting well against us. Curry and Ndjigue were out last game. Will be watching 2nite from home.
Be proud of the present and look to the future.

Glad you're excited. They look like a JV team tonight on the way out of the A10, and we get to look forward to new rivalries with the likes of Western Michigan.Steve81 wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:51 pm Very excited about the future of UMass hoops and Frank Martin. Things will look bleak if this program doesn't rebound in a big way next year.
Re: 2025 Recruiting
Yes, last night was disappointing. Without Curry and others not stepping it up, it was down right hard to watch. That said, we have some recruits, UMass is adding NIL money. Which is a goo0d thing because all the bitching you guys do, is generally with little skin in the game. You want to compete, step up the donating, do something about it. Talk, bitch is cheap. Put your money were your mouth is. I concentrate my donation for my favorite sport, but do do small donations to the UMass fund and the Mass Collective.
After turning 70 in a few years, thinking of donating my smaller insurance policy to the U Script fund, but it will be for football. If basketball is your favorite sport, you all are capable of doing the same.

Re: 2025 Recruiting
Innervision, know you donate well. Said UMass is challenged scoring and with injuries and Diggins not have a great night, it's hard. Don't dwell on the past, and the future is brighter. Whether you spend your time thinking about a brighter future or dwelling on disappoints is your choice. I expect to be attack by basketball first people. Will always encourage the general fan to put more skin in the game.
When I retired thought my donations to UMass should be cut in half budget wise. IS that what I did. OF course not, it's about to double this year because I want to do everything this little guy can do to make UMass future brighter.
Be proud of the present and look to the future.
