I thought that this was our teams best defensive performance of the season

Besides Castro, no one on the GW squad got going

Big time W

not taking anything away from them as I think it was a good win, but I think we got GW at the right time! They had no energy at all after that 2OT loss vs Mason Saturday. Nice to see them string a few together - next 4 make or break the season - go 2-2 and they give themselves a chance for a bye and maybe even a double bye - 1-3 or god forbid 0-4 and we may be looking at a play in game at 11:30am on the first day of the A-10 tourney.

They get a week off now. Frank's practices appear to be bearing fruit, so maybe this is a good thing.

I don't want to get too excited just yet, these last 3 games weren't exactly vs the best of the A10, but it's very encouraging.

During the pre-season when I envisioned what UMass would probably look like if they were going to be a team that pushed for a top 6 A10 finish, tonight is what that looked like (I think the first time all season). Good guard play from BOTH Diggins and Curry with relatively efficient shot-making and shot-creating, strong team defense, good overall rebounding and great offensive rebounding. Time will tell, and there's reason to be skeptical, but this might be sustainable.

The biggest negative tonight was giving up 26 points off turnovers. Gotta work on that. After VCU and maybe Dayton and GMU, the rest of the A10 is a crapshoot.

These guys are playing so much better than they did in December.

It was a small but spirited crowd.

When did they start using the area behind the south basket like hockey uses the area behind the north goal…food and drink presumably for Court Club members? Will they move to the north end when semester break is over and the students return?

I think Frank just stuck with what was working. Malek has been better in the last couple. DHS seems like he's coming around. Ndjigue had a great game on Sunday and did decent tonight. I think Akil just got squeezed.

Tonight was staff appreciation night so that is what was happening behind that basket. It will return to normal next game. Court Club is upstairs .

Maybe he was ill. He wasn’t on the bench.

Ah that's right, that's why I initially asked - brain fart. I remember not seeing him on the bench when the camera showed our sidelines.
