9 out of 10 games you would take 0 points over 23 points and 9 rebounds. #NeverForget

^ Being better than Marqui Worthy and arguably better than his freshman year self is not exactly a ringing endorsement for your starting PG.

I don't think highly of Ndjigue because of his meager offense. Rivera did well at the FT line today, the rest of his play wasn't impressive.

Rivera will at times fill up the box score in ways that don't seem to be particularly advantageous for this team.

How is improving over his freshman year self not good enough? And it's not arguable, it's a fact that by pretty much every metric he's a better player than he was last year on a per minute basis. I think the issue is not his performance, but your own expectations.

*Talking about Curry here as the conversation has switched over to Rivera.

Adding that Curry wasn't picked to any preseason A10 teams. The goal for every player should be to improve in measurable ways, and he's done that. It hasn't resulted in wins, but that's a team stat and they all own the W-L record.

like the rest of the team, consistency is lacking. but a couple games ago, he practically beat Northeastern single-handed, and the talent is there. Today he had 6 assists, 3 steals, zero turnovers. Very bad shooting day. But played way better than the back-up guards.
Can't use the word "content" with anything about this year's team. I hate to see things like that difficult shot near the end of the first half that put UMass down 4 at the half when it should have been down 2 or tied. Can't the coach get them to hold for a last shot?

what happened with Abdelgowad? Wasn't having a good game, but 0 minutes in the second half?
Malek was not with it today. Defense was awful and very tentative on offense. Could have been sick? Muhammad played decently in his stead. DHS was rusty. Bright spot was FT% was up for the team.

If this team shoots even average from the field this year, we'd be at 8 or 9 wins. Just crazy how we struggle shooting the ball. Jalen Curry would have benefitted greatly playing behind a more experienced PG ( Keon) and splitting minutes, to learn and get stronger. I still want him on my team, but he does struggle a bit against stronger, more physical guys. He's a young sophomore, I expect him to be better & stronger as a junior/senior, I'm not giving up on him.

As far as Rivera, without him today we get blown out. He was aggressive on the boards and matched their physical inside play with his own. Was it perfect, no, but he played tough today.

Offensively we still look a little disjointed and hurried. Looks alot like pass around the perimeter and try to drive & dish, but very little movement. Still don't know what 5 play together the best

They hung in & could have had it, but fell short. Just gotta keep grinding

We need to have more players making 3's. Then we need to play better defense on the 3's. Giving up too many open 3 's.

Need to make more twos. The open threes were a result of new/different defensive combinations today, also DHS was rusty. Would love to play St. Joe’s again at the end of the year. We will improve.

Why is muhommad only playing 17 minutes a game? We havent had a rim protector like him in awhile.

Rivera could have 40 points, 30 rebounds, 10 assists and someone on here like Niles would post “mmmmm yeah but his turnover ratio wasn’t great, good performance but could be better”

Positives: Sool and Rivera, who’s been improving every game.

Happy New Year to all.

Traditionally over last 10 years or so our shooting percentages have declined in the second half, mainly 3 pt shooting, so being this bad early is NOT a good sign!

Need offensive production too. Going forward I expect more from him. I’d expect the next game he, DHS, and Rivera will all be near 23-25 minutes. Rivera got 28 total, which is rare for Frank Martin. Watson got 12 and Malek got 9. I’d love to see a big lineup of Shahid, DHS, Rivera with sool and curry. Have Watson and Jayden spell the front court or go small.
