^ yep.
Just look above in this thread at how the head of the hoop Collective answers questions (i.e. professionally) versus MRC. Asking people for money and then insulting those who don’t give or have questions never seemed like a particularly sound strategy of MRC. Presenting yourself as adversarial to the AD doesn’t seem very wise or productive either. By comparison, the Collective promotes the program. Full stop.
I’m the biggest skeptic of NIL there is and have not joined the Collective, but Pat has invited me to meetings and has been willing to answer questions that people have, even uncomfortable ones at times.
Well to be fair - you are tied for the biggest skeptic

.
The MRC is full of muscle brain dudes trying to do the big boy football thing. I suspect that had something to do with their "unwinding".
It is interesting that the Hoop stash is now being picked over for football. This is and has been the problem with the AD's office in general. Bamford is not running this like an FBS athletic department - the fucking guy needs to go. There are other collectives that are sport specific, but most in the "big boy" schools are one big pot for the whole thing.
BAMFORD MUST GO
I respect your skepticism towards NIL—it’s absolutely your choice to feel that way. I think we have demonstrated professionalism, accountability, transparency and moderate success over the last 2 years. However, I politely ask that you please avoid spreading false information. I understand it can be hard to keep up with all this, too. But as we’ve clearly stated in this thread:
“We’ve stepped in to provide administrative and support roles as needed for the rest of this season and going forward. To be absolutely clear: no basketball funds or resources will be used for anything but basketball. These efforts are completely separate and will remain that way.”
It’s also important to clarify that the MRC is a private business, and the administration or Bamford has no control over it. They shut down on their own and have not addressed or accounted for the shutdown. We’re not here to criticize or speculate on the MRC—we’re here to help, and that’s what we’re doing.
We can only control our communication and operations, and we strive to be as clear, concise, and transparent as possible. That commitment will continue moving forward.
I encourage you to join our next member meeting on 12/10 via Zoom to see how we operate and participate in the discussion. If you’re interested, please email
[email protected] for access. We’d value your input.
