BTW, I'll be happy being competitive (2 or 3 conf wins) in the MAC. The problem with UMass is hiring shitty coaches Molnar and Gomer and not doing anything to the concrete embarrassment we call McGuirk. it looked absolutely fucking pathetic on ESPN the other day.

regarding the "Stadium", money is tight...perhaps a good power washing?

Since we are paying a basketball coach 2M, do not believe money is to tight for a stadium infrastructure project.

Comparing a stadium project which would cost 10s of Millions, if not over 100 million, to a coach at 2mil to try and make this point is pure insanity.

And for the record, I fully believe they could figure out a new stadium situation with ease, especially considering all the multi-purpose things they could do. I just wouldn't make that argument by pointing at what we pay the basketball coach.

In other great news.......

Without playing a game last week, we dropped from #132 in Massey to #133 !!!!!!

Previously unblemished (by any wins) Kennesaw U beat Liberty last night 27-24.

UMass was just outside of the ESPN Bottom 10 for the first time since I can remember.... Looks like that may be a 1 week thing however. Buy Hey Congratulations!

In other ranking news: Without playing a game last week UMass dropped 2 spots to #132 in the CBS rankings.

Way to go team!

Not comparing a capital project to a coach's salary. They are financed and expensed differently.

Will just be blunt, m626t comment that money is tight and perhaps a power wash was bullshit! Any success like the parking lots being full is great by some with mockery. Do apologize for jabbing back with a basketball reference.

For anyone that's run a private business, capital expenses come with big tax incentives compared to your normal run of the mill regular expenses. Not sure how it works with public institutions.

But... you did compare/try to correlate them to make a point. Which was insane.

And it is only bullshit in our eyes related to doing a new project... we saw the vision of Mullins project get off the ground long before basketball blasted off the launch pad, so we know they can figure this out with some thought (and a friend in the legislature)....

Beyond that, power washing is (almost) literally the only thing the school has done to the stadium in 59 years of existence.

I will say it again.. in a few years we are going to thank the football gods that we are in the MAC. The football conferences are going to separate themselves from non FBS football conferences (Big East probably gets to stay too). One day it will be just the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, and Sec schools.

Normally I think you are on acid, but you nailed this one!!!! It will be MOST or SOME of the ACC & Big 12, and all of the Big 10 and SEC. 64 schools/4 = 16 teams per conference. Funny thing is, it's ALWAYS been that way since 1936. Ohio State Michigan Alabama Texas USC etc etc.

I was under the impression we nearly broke the bank for Frank, so I don't think you're quite right here. Lol.

Highly doubt coach salaries and capital improvement projects for campus buildings comes from the same pot of money.
