I don't really understand the line of thinking on here. Give me WVU at full strength. It's an OOC game, who cares? Let's see how we measure up against legit competition. You can't say you don't learn anything from the Albany's, CCSU's and Quinnipiac's and then be scared of this game. If anything, maybe they don't gel right away and we steal one and it looks better as the season goes along.

I like your way of thinking. We need wins. I'd even take a forfeit :P. (The last part was a joke.)

^ +1. If we lose by 20 there will be serious bitching after the game. Be careful what you wish for. I will say this, if we play them next year (and we keep all of our core players) we would probably beat them. I am very excited about next year (I know it's too early to think about 2024).

Me too but I actually like what I’ve seen this year. If Cohen can play like he did last game, may have something serious this year!

What if we win?
Just sayin. Why write em off before we even play?

^ Just my opinion, but I think Josh will have trouble with Edwards and Akok. They are both very good post defenders. Also, the 2 transfers and Kriisa will be playing for WVU tomorrow so their backcourt is much better now.

We're going to have to hit some outside shots to loosen up the defense. Young guys on the perimeter are going to get a trial by fire.

Though it would have been nice to beat a Bob Huggins WV team to make up for the loss at Springfield vs. Huggins Univ of Cincinnati team in 1993 (I remember going to the game with my UConn friends from Hartford and debating all night if UMass or UConn was better program at that time), it is still important that we beat WV since it is a Big 12 Team to bolster our out of conference resume and the A10 overall. In fact, I would say this weekend is one of the most important Saturday’s for the A10 as there are so many important games to restore the credibility of the A10 such as LaSalle vs. #24 Miami, ,Fordham vs. St. John’s, #15 FAU vs. St. Bonnie, and Dayton vs. Cincinnati. If we can we split these games, then it would be a boost for the conference in getting more than one bid at tournament time. Here is my prediction:

UM Beats WVU
Miami beats LaSalle (though close)
Fordham beats St. John’s
St Bonnie stuns FAU
Dayton beats Cincinnati.

Bonus Game: VCU beats Temple

5 of 6 wins would be awesome and 4 would great or 3 would be good enough!

My bar is set low. I think we could have beaten the WVU team that has played the first few games. I’m not sure how we beat this new team given not just the talent but also the lack of tape on these guys. Going to be a game where cross, key, Cohen are going to have to play their hearts out and stay out of foul trouble. Going to need Diggs to score and need someone to lock down Kriisa. Tough all around. That said. Let’s fucking go UMass!
