Couldn't find a better spot for this, but Bergman did a nice job reporting on the how our former players did last night. Gapare is an enigma - it looks like he's still not what he should be.

Edit: GA Tech played Georgia Southern, picked 13th out of 14 in the Sun Belt. I'm trying not to pick on him, but I had such high hopes when he got here and thought he would be a good, maybe great, player by the end of his freshman year.

No idea where to put this because there is no sense in reviving the 2022-23 season thread.

I just finished watching Frank's postgame presser. When talking about Keon he mentioned that Keon could have left but he said that he wanted to be at Umass and he felt like he belonged at Umass. And that is why Frank coaches. To see the process through and to help kids improve. In reference to this he said, and I quote "You don't lose your last game by 40 points without there being some dysfunction in the locker room".

Well...that is quite telling and doesn't leave much to the imagination. I know it came out that Gapare, DD and Noah had their issues with Frank in some capacity last year. TJ, while being a great kid, just didn't fit Frank's playing style. I'm sure Frank would love to have RJ and Wildens on the roster still so I doubt this was a shot at them, or his son obviously. Maybe it was just a shot at the lack of cohesion last year's team had and how they were just a bunch of mismatched parts consisting of McCall's guys, Frank's guys and last second additions. Even though this is cliche and used way too often, I'm hoping now that Frank has "his guys" we will see more cohesion and a better roster construction moving forward which hopefully leads to more wins.

Maybe Gapare is over hyped, not as good as we thought it happens. Saw his dad was still posting on UMass content on twitter/X last night and it was not positive. Its time for daddy to stop worrying about UMass.

I think it was just a mismatch of parts. Frank is a hard guy to play for, especially if you didn't sign up to play for him. Some guys don't want to be screamed at and belittled, even if it's under the guise of helping them grow as people and players. I get the sense that Frank is reflecting on that a little more, hopefully that helps him stay an effective coach. I'm glad Noah never aired the dirty laundry, which seemed to be hinted at on his way out the door.

If all you do is scream, eventually you're not screaming. And then one of two things happen. 1. your delivery is accepted as they way you communicate and no one message has any more importance than any other, or 2. you are completely tuned out. #2 are the kids that leave.
