I agree with nighttrain777, the best logo they had was the one on the old football helmets with the UM and the minuteman. Classic, historical, well done. Why does everyone get so sensitive about these things is beyond belief. It's a logo that symbolizes our history, not a reflection that everyone is toting around a gun. I say if anything, go back to that one.

Anyone interested in creating a list of those who will reduce or scrape donations alltogether to the Athletic Department if they make this change?
I will be one of the first to sign it, I could certainly give the money originally earmarked for Umass to the school i got my grad. degree from! $$$$ may be the only thing these people listen to, and it seems most Alumni (see: people that make donations and buy merchandise for themselves and as gifts for others) are not fond of this idea to change.

YES! Put me on the list!

I will not give another dime to the school if they change the name. I'd be happy to submit my proper contact info along with a list of my donations to UMass over the years if such a list gets pulled together.

George Parks tells me that no one in the Marching Band and no Band staff members have been asked to comment or participate in the proposed mascot change.

Ha. This was one of the early threads on this version of the board, #169. We're past 17,000 now.

I thought for a second this was Concord MA, but it's California. Concord MA schools have a Minuteman-looking guy in their logo, but they call themselves the Patriots.

It came up during the Arkansas State game that we missed out on Grey Wolves vs. Red Wolves.

Of course, the wolves were at the door that day for other reasons.
