A small world story. We had a small family gathering in Maine this past weekend. I was talking to my nephew-in-law about sports and in particular, college BB. He mentioned that he has a cousin who plays D1 BB, Luke Ruggery. I asked him where and he says, St. Francis of PA. I then told him that we (UMass) just got a transfer from there. He then said with a very straight face, "You guys didn't get Josh Cohen, did you?"

To make along story a bit shorter, Josh and Luke are good friends. My nephew was in PA several weeks ago for his grandfather's funeral. Luke was there and Josh was with him.

My nephew has seen a number of SF of PA games to watch his cousin and knows Josh's game very well. His comment was that Josh is somewhat unorthodox, but he has an uncanny knack for getting the ball to drop. My nephew lives in CT but he now a UMass fan.

That rocks...

I see Cohen getting mad minutes if he is healthy. See him both at the five and four.

I see him at the four most when Davis is in there. But it is early. Haven't seen enough of either.

I predict a young backcourt with Freshmen getting big minutes if they can earn it vs. Diggs and Keon. Gonna be a dogfight for starting positions in backcourt.

Up front I expect Cohen and Cross to start and Wildens, if healthy.

Whole structure hinges on Wildens' knees.

For those of us who question how good Cohen might be (we hope he is 100% by game 1), he's on a highly thought of list. If this is what the so-called experts think, good for us.

thats impressive - I am praying he comes as advertised - we need him to be this good!

I did not listen yet but somebody reported that Frank said his back injury was muscular so thats good - I think based on that even if he wasn't 100% by the opener he could pop some Advil and be fine

Unless this is a dick joke I'm missing, I'd probably go with Edey on that one...

^ I had a chance to spend some time chatting with Josh at the summer open practice, and he's a real solid dude. I'm thrilled to have such a high character and experienced player here.

Can’t say enough about how great Josh has been to work with. Will bring invaluable leadership to the program.
