Yes I meant specifically to Curry. Obviously the difference being his ties to Hankins-Sanford and wanting to team up. The rest is a similarity to RJ's recruitment/development arch.NilesGold wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 1:07 pmYes that applies to Jaylen Curry, but Hankins-Sanford was recruited by Frank to South Carolina so it doesn't apply to him.natwam2547 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 12:07 pmNot to be Negative Nancy, but wasn't this something people used as an excuse as to why RJ entered the portal? Didn't have that established recruiting connection with Frank, probably should have been at a higher level school and then jumped at the first opportunity he got when he proved he could ball?

It seems Frank has been recruiting curry for a while and probably developed a strong relationship with him as wellnatwam2547 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 10:58 amYes I meant specifically to Curry. I read that hoops received 87 donations for UMass Gives, finishing 7th among our sports. Can 7th be correct? Does anyone know how many donors the previous two years?Juice Stand wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 2:04 pm52 donors as of 3:00PM EST. Here's the donation link: https://umass.scalefunder.com/gday/givi ... dept=70818tdmass wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 12:42 pm As of 1:30 PM today we've had only FIFTY Donors to this Program! Folks, you just can't bitch about things and turn a deaf ear to support the program. I know between here and twitter I've heard a LOT more than 50 people bitching about the Program! FIVE BUCKS . . . Come On!
If you're on this board, and you want UMass to succeed in hoops, put some money in the pot. It looks like you have until Midnight.

Assuming Hankins Sanford signs, that's it for scholarships, right? That roster looks to be about middle of the pack to me.
The biggest X factor is buy-in and Frank's ability to get everyone on the same page giving consistent effort. I take solace in knowing Frank has a track record of accomplishing that.

I think measuring the number of donors for one weekend is weird. I donate to the gridiron club when I renew my ST. Knowing how many and the total amounts for each program over a year would be something I am interested in knowing, though.Old Cage wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 8:49 amI read that hoops received 87 donations for UMass Gives, finishing 7th among our sports. And now for the 6 1/2 month wait... Of course, there's always football (to complain about).

My thoughts exactly. I was making a monthly court club contribution and am no longer doing that. Eventually I'll redirect some of that monthly donation to the collectives (football as well).dennisdent wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 6:09 pm For the first time I am not donating but giving my money to the Collective. Why should we pay for a free country club membership for Martin and Bamford. Screw that, I want my money to go to the players directly and better their young lives and hopefully the programs.

Keeping money "on your pocket" doesn't sound very safe. Better to give it to the Collective.UMassfan_19 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 1:49 pmThe money is better on your pocket or a high yield savings accountMarty Peretz wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 1:14 pmMy thoughts exactly.
