Gianni Thompson: 6m:30s of PT, -9 in the +/-. He's going to continue to be last scholarship guy off the bench with numbers like that.
Wildens just 7:31 of PT with 3 fouls. Thankfully we didn't really need him.
Encouraging game from Brandon: 5-6 shooting, 10 pts, +17
Promising game from Keon, stepping in for Noah. Diggins got the start, but only played 9 min to Keon's 31. Leon 4-8 FG, 5-6 from the stripe, +18 led the team
Gapare: breakout game

Was hoping to see Gianni play, and he looked lost on the court. Probably no surprise as he hasn't logged many/any minutes.
Tapari is coming up to speed fast! Real fast!! Very disruptive on defense with his length.

the teams top 3-pt % player is now Gapare. Didn't see that coming. Will need his offense with Noah out and very tough opponents upcoming.

Mike - Gianni didn't play well, for sure, but he was in there with three walk-ons at the end.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

even more of a reason to be disappointed. the kid was the #1 recruit in Massachusetts two years ago and top 30 Forward nationally. He is playing with walk ons and vs walk ons - he was getting pushed around down low and his first instinct was to pass the ball. at that point you need to be aggressive, take it to the hoop and try to make the most of your chance. After last night I'd be surprised to ever see him play again - garbage time or no garbage time

I wouldn't read too much into the PT. Noah was out, and they have another game against a much better opponent in 2 days. Give the young kids some experience while resting some others and keeping them fresh for Thursday.

At this point if you're Gianni, you must be in favor of redshirting, no?

I saw the attendance was reported at 3,200 but from where I was seated, it seemed like just as many, if not more fans as the first two games and those were both well over 4,000. When I try to guess how many are there I look at the seats above the tunnels where the players run out. For the first time all year there were people sitting there and there were some sitting in the middle uppers - that was not the case the previous two games. I'm not saying there was 5,000 but I really think there was more than 3,200. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter, but I'd be curious to see how the come up with these figures? For example - 2nd half there was some sort of "team" there - they were dressed in Black sweat suits - had to be at least 50 of them - do they count them? Also saw most of the women's team there along with a bunch of football players - do they count them if they just wander over from the Champions center and go through the locker room area to get in? Regardless, its pathetic the lack of people that come to support this team so far, but would really be curious to know if it's someone with a clicker at the door, ticket sales, a guess???

Tickets sold vs seats in butts.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:24 pm I saw the attendance was reported at 3,200 but from where I was seated, it seemed like just as many, if not more fans as the first two games and those were both well over 4,000. meaning they sold 3200 tickets but 4500 may have actually been in there? if that's the case then it makes sense because I felt like that was the biggest crowd of the year.minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:10 pmTickets sold vs seats in butts.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:24 pm I saw the attendance was reported at 3,200 but from where I was seated, it seemed like just as many, if not more fans as the first two games and those were both well over 4,000. I think MMGA was taking about redshirting, and not the portal. The current rule is that once you step on the floor, the redshirt year is gone for non-medical reasons. The A-10 has formally asked the NCAA for a less restrictive ruling, and I believe four games has been mentioned for hoops.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:27 pmnot sure he can redshirt without a known injury? assume you mean transfer portal?inthescoop wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:20 pm At this point if you're Gianni, you must be in favor of redshirting, no?

Meaning the games they sold 4500 to had 3200 in the seats. They want to count as many as they can. They won’t skimp on counting.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:33 pmmeaning they sold 3200 tickets but 4500 may have actually been in there? if that's the case then it makes sense because I felt like that was the biggest crowd of the year.minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:10 pmTickets sold vs seats in butts.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:24 pm I saw the attendance was reported at 3,200 but from where I was seated, it seemed like just as many, if not more fans as the first two games and those were both well over 4,000. After listening to FM's post game comments, I think he was happy that the final score did not reflect the fact that this game was a blowout. That's why he went to the deep bench so early.
