^If the game consisted of only defense the grade might move to a "C".

D is pretty fair as he hired Casula and didn't recruit a decent transfer or incoming freshman QB who could play (see UConn).

Doesn't matter who the coach of this mess is; could be Vince Lombardi, Bill Belichick, Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney.......the result will be the same. NMSU has to be a win or we're going 1-11 AGAIN.

I'm going to continue to donate and go to a game or two, but it's not a lot of fun being a UMass football fan. Hockey, however, is a different story.

I got lucky at Encore this week (made 13k in 3 days at blackjack). I'm thinking even UMass football gets lucky this week and next. First we get a bye; then an actual WIN vs NMSU!!!!

Bill Belichick could win anywhere, including at umass. Generally I agree though. The on field talent gap is massive every week, and we are usually operating at a coaching talent deficit as well.

In 1994 Bill had Cleveland at 11-5 and they made the playoffs.

The negative nellies are simply showcasing their football ignorance and need to chill out. Gotta have some faith in Don Brown, he's a proven excellent Coach. He'll get the team back on track and improving week to week.

Not a negative at all. I have full faith in DB. You can’t be serious though saying BB was a winner in Cleveland. He had one good year and the team literally moved on from the city and the coach the same year. Modell was obviously wrong. But, BB did not win in Cleveland on the whole.

He went 11-5 and made the playoffs. That's winning I think. I know you're not a negative nellie - I wasn't commenting on you. Looking forward to the rest of the season !

I'm also looking forward to the rest of the season: I'm 60 and looking forward to one or two more victories before I go to the big casino in the sky!!!

Just saw on the other board that NMSU is also on a bye this week. If it wasn’t for bad luck we wouldn’t have any. I hate to be a negative Nellie but there goes any advantage we would’ve had. Hoping for a miracle next Saturday

This is incorrect. NMS doesn't have a bye.

The NMS game against SJS was scheduled for today however it was postponed because 18 Yr old SJS Freshman RB Camden McWright was killed in a motor vehicle accident while riding an electric scooter near campus. Characterizing a tragic fatality of this young man as "bad luck" for UMass football seems like an incredibly poor choice of words - to put it mildly.

It's just a football game - Looking forward to supporting our team and our Minuteman Marching Band.

Hey, Youngsta - Age 82 here. That's why I follow pucks and lax and now the ladies hoops so closely. NEED those victories! :) I was spoiled by a decent amount of winning by football and hoops and lax during my campus years.

He called it a “bye” which suggests he wasn’t aware it was canceled due to a tragedy. More importantly, nothing quite like a sensitivity lecture coming from a dude who routinely mocks and dismisses human decency as “political correctness.”
