Umass is not simply available, but according to the article completely QUALIFIED. Team doesn't have to be from the conference and they can also have a losing record.

Practice time…….Texas A&M has 123 players listed on their roster, between scholarships and walk-ons, and they won’t field a team….might be a great source of potential transfers when the realization hits that you will NEVER see the field at Texas A&M, no matter what happens! Sure makes you think that the 12th Man stuff is just a bunch of crap!! At least Jimbo thinks it is
