The door is wide open for a 4 win season...

Nobody expected ucon to look good. they did not disappoint.TruBluMaroon wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 8:10 pm Their last game was Nov 30, 2019, that is about 20 months…..why would anyone expect them to look good?
correction.... their HC randy edsall believed that shutting down the program for covid and not playing would let them get bigger, faster stronger....so there was apparently 1 person who thought they'd look good.

Re: 2021 Season
Line looks to be Pitt by 38. Pitt is a good team but I think with our revamped staff, new offense, transfers, and finally some depth we cover. Not saying close... just cover
Re: 2021 Season
I truly admire your optimism. However we have yet to see a functioning offensive line that can sustain a drive (a problem ucon had yesterday) or a QB that can complete passes and move the chains. I hope that you are correct - I would love to see a competitive football game, but I see Pitt covering.

Re: 2021 Season
Well they can cover without it being competitive.. kinda what I expect.. or should I say hope
Re: 2021 Season
Right. Pitt will cover 38 and it won't be competitive. Georgia Southern beat us by 41. Marshall beat us by 41. Liberty beat us by 45.
Hopefully UMass proves me wrong.

Re: 2021 Season
Pitt is a veteran team with a ton more talent at every position and a better coaching staff. All I hope to see is a working offense; neither UConn or NMSU had either yesterday against mediocre teams yesterday. URI looked good in the spring but their defense wasn't that strong.
Re: 2021 Season
When we are pessimistic about beating FCS CAA teams, where are we after all these years in FBS light?
Feeling entitled is JUST a feeling...

Re: 2021 Season
I mean if you cant be slightly optimistic prior to the season you can never be. They added FBS talent to the Oline, Wr, Rb, and Qb.. the defense flashed a few times last year but they were on the field so much with no depth they couldn't hold up. All areas should be better and we scrapped that dumb offense. Atleast have a little hope for a week!
