Not retweeting because he seems to just want attention. There's really no other plausible explanation.

Re: 2021-2022 Season
^ 4th seems extremely optimistic, but when you look closely, outside of Bona, Richmond, and maybe VCU, the rest of the A10 is really unpredictable and it's not crazy to think a team like UMass could be in the upper half of the league.

I might be on cold takes exposed but you have a better chance of eldon and Iv shaking hands during halftime of a game that a Matthew Wayne McCall team finishing 4th next season.

I really hope you are on cold takes exposed because I really want this coach, this team and this program to succeed. And soon.

You never know.. I think this team has some talent and could finish well... If they don't finish in the top half if the A10 and overall just play good basketball MM will probably be gone and I hope Bamford follows him out the door.

Re: 2021-2022 Season
Bamford just won a national championship in hockey and women's basketball is much improved. I don't see him getting canned any time soon. This is definitely a make or break year for McCall, but not for Bamford.
Re: 2021-2022 Season
It ain't all about hoops! Men's soccer and women's lax also made the NCAAs. I think that our AD is on more shaky ground with football, if we don't see some improvement there, than he is with hoops.

Re: 2021-2022 Season
With all the transfers, the Tre Mitchell escapade, whatever, it seems like McCall talks a good game but is always looking for the short cut to get to the top.

People started clamoring for his head during his 2nd season, can't imagine why he might have been looking for a "short cut".

Actually, I'm impressed that he pretty much kept the team together despite all the craziness of the past year. Maybe he's on track to actually build something after all.

For good reason. His poor judgment and lack of effective leadership created a total mess.
He's had some time to learn on the job, however, and as uz2b-len said, it bodes well he was able to keep most of the team together. We can only hope he's continued to learn and improve, and has created a foundation for success, which must be immediate.
There's real urgency. If Bamford can't steer the revenue sports in a positive direction - football and hoops matter a great deal - he's gotta move on.
Re: 2021-2022 Season
Seems unfair to criticize a coach for looking for shortcuts when it's clear that he's not going to be given a lot of time to show he can deliver results.DanaDingle3 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:38 amFor good reason. His poor judgment and lack of effective leadership created a total mess.
