It's a hard year to recruit our way out of this. We don't have many offers out for next year. Lot of teams didn't play. The transfer portal is full of players who are there for a reason. It's a boneyard.

President of the University should be on the phone with Tre asking him to stay and play for TB. Adios McCall.

I don't think the players can continue to respect McCall at this point. Plain and simple. If the coach is not respected, you are never going to win.

This just doesn't seem logical. This is the tail wagging the dog. It would say the players are running the asylum. And the cost, financially is too great and the cost of overall outward appearances would be bad.

I don't know where they go from here but it feels like it will get worse before it gets better. And it feels like I have said that 100 times since Chaz left.

Tre has a degree, now it's all about P5, and lots of P5 schools need to reload. And many have excellent MBA programs, like UVA, Michigan just to name two. Duke, Notre Dame? I say Big 10 or ACC conferences.

What if Cal flips from his usual youngest possible recruit posture? Kentucky needs a jolt.

Literally, we now seem to be in the worst-case scenario for UMass.

The whole assistant coach living with Tre's mom I did not know, the intrigue is out of Shakespeare.

Perhaps I am naïve but I never thought the 2 major sports at this university would be in such a mess at this point in time. MBB seems to be back in the Ray Wilson - Ron Gerlufsen era. The AD has some 'splaining to do. I actually felt sick after reading the above posts.

How did tre get a degree in less than two years. That seems suspect to me. Someone would have to walk me through that to believe it.

Dear god, who is going to guide us out of this mess? And how? Two inseverable questions right now.

If we keep McCall, he's got to try and hold together the talent he has and build a front court. Hopefully TJ stays and his brother follows. Preston was the first of Woodstock Nation to arrive.

Tre made us forget all about Deeky. How do you begin to find a replacement for Tre? He belongs in Kentucky and I hope Cal gets him, not UConn.

Bamford needs to speak to the fans and tell us we have some direction as a program.

As I said last week. McCall was going to be canned this week or next March either way so mind as well pull the trigger now.

There is no way Tre has 4 a year degree in 2 years. In addition I doubt Pierre has an MBA in 4 years.

Why wouldn't you give TB a chance at HC if he can keep Tre? Who the hell knows if he can coach at this level, but that's the only world in which we're competitive next year, and I'd imagine Bamford doesn't want both football and basketball to be total dumpster fires.

It's not like we don't have a precedent for hiring a Western Mass native with a strong recruiting pedigree. Not that DK was an overwhelming success, but if TB has a stronger Xs and Os skillset than we think (or can surround himself with people who do), it's worth the risk.

And I personally could care less if it's perceived as a mutiny or whatever. When you're the HC and your assistant has that much leverage, that's on you.

Has Camby ever coached at any level? Does Camby want to coach? Seems like MM will be here for another year or 2...

College ball is done. Not done done but done in a sense that the lack of continuity is going to destroy the fanaticism that goes along with it. With the new transfer rules a mid major star is an endangered species. Tack on the new G league rules and its just going to completely change the landscape of being a fan.
