2021-2022 Season
Re: 2021-2022 Season
I think it is reasonable to expect that there will be transfers.
I'm not as pleased with our results as many here. I understand that it was a screwed up year - but all teams were in the same boat. 8-7 record with 1 win over a team with a winning record is not a great accomplishment. In addition of the 5 league losses only 1 (GM) was a tight game.
The off season will be interesting.

^ What do you think the admin should do, given your displeasure?
Re: 2021-2022 Season
Everything centers around Tre, and I don't see him leaving based on his connection to Tony and his preference for the UMass business school. Noah and Dibaji have already been elsewhere, Javohn played big minutes. TJ should get most of Carl's minutes. Cairo made a role for himself (I'd be pissed if he left) and he'll get even better. Unless RD3 really wanted to play at Colorado, why leave here? Big minutes and is a big piece of the team. And if Preston wants to play again, and it sounds like he does, I think its at UMass. I think something really big would have to happen for this to blowup

^ Floyd, I hope you are right and I like your logic. I give it until the Big Dance is over. If we don't hear anything by then I think we're safe. Also, I think there is a signing period in April, so keep an eye on that.
Re: 2021-2022 Season
The only thing I could see is if Tony was offered a HC job somewhere and the Woodstock gang followed him. I want to see this team all here, intact
But I'm taking your approach 69, sitback and just ignore the talk until something happens

No info here but what if, say, the new BC coach is looking to hire an assistant that can bring a good transfer with him..Floyd wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:23 pm The only thing I could see is if Tony was offered a HC job somewhere and the Woodstock gang followed him. Re: 2021-2022 Season
This is entirely possible, and it's the risk that McCall took when hiring Bergeron. Tre alone is probably worth an assistant position to a few P5+ programs.TheOFFSeason wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 7:17 pmNo info here but what if, say, the new BC coach is looking to hire an assistant that can bring a good transfer with him..Floyd wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:23 pm The only thing I could see is if Tony was offered a HC job somewhere and the Woodstock gang followed him. I think it's unlikely we'll have McCall, Bergeron, and Tre all here next year. It's either McCall without those two, Bergeron & Tre, or none of them.
Re: 2021-2022 Season
Bottom line, if McCall can't keep this team together to the point where an NCAAT is realistic for next season, his time here has to be over, even if it means Tyson Wheeler is the interim HC. With McCall's history at UTC, and the re-set he had to take after year 2, it would be time for Bamford to pull the plug.

I think that would force Bamford's hand. Promote TB or possibly lose Tre & co. Power play for TBTheOFFSeason wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 7:17 pmNo info here but what if, say, the new BC coach is looking to hire an assistant that can bring a good transfer with him..Floyd wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:23 pm The only thing I could see is if Tony was offered a HC job somewhere and the Woodstock gang followed him. I can't imagine the backlash if they went to BC. I don't think all this free movement is necessarily a good thing.

If Tony and Tre leave figure on a BUNCH more leaving.. I personally don’t see how they can keep Matt if Tre is going to leave. This is the risk when Matt hired Tony. If they won nobody would question or could question Matt.I wanted him to do well but I don’t think he has the coaching knowledge at this level. I think they have to give Tony a shot and see what happens- if not this core group we all love and can see a future for will not be here that I am sure about.NilesGold wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 7:54 pmThis is entirely possible, and it's the risk that McCall took when hiring Bergeron. Nothing more than rumors at this point. But enough rumors that I'd say where there's smoke there's fire.JoleonLescottsHair wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 8:08 pmHuh?! This is why the off season (not the poster) just absolutely sucks.

The only rumors are coming from you Niles and I think you're doing a disservice to the program by propagating them. Tell me, what purpose, other than soothing your own ego, are you serving by making these assertions?
