Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
Bamford said no decision has been made re: fans beyond Nov/Dec.

It'd be nice for the department to communicate directly with season ticket holders.

Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
Think he got burned making the decision to cancel the football season, instead of cancelling September and a wait and see approach.
So nothing Nov/Dec and will see the for the A10 season. Perhaps a month ago, was asked about my football deposit, asked about BB. Nothing for OOC, perhaps the last month of the A10 season. But this is the callwrs educated guess and nothing definitive about it. We'll see Old Cage, but there is such a concern about indoor spaces during this COVID spike.

Cal's 1yr, the crowd is Booing. He stands up, turns to the crowd and says "Cheer for us!"
Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
I would have loved to see attendance capped at 2000. Prior season ticket holders only.
However Bamford really has his hands tied because of Mass state regulations.
I think if infection rate had stayed the way it was in September, Governor Baker might have relaxed some if the rules and allowed limited crowds. But with cases in the state spiking, I don’t see it happening.

Can't have in person attendance until the state says so. This isn't hard to understand....

Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
We should be talking about fans for the 21/22 season, there is a 0.0% chance you will have fans at sporting events during the 20/21 season. Hell, I'd say it's 50/50 they play all the games on their schedule.
Edited to add: this is for Massachusetts only, obviously several other states have already allowed fans at games.

I don’t understand why some folks here don’t understand that. Unless the Commonwealth changes their COVID-19 public health guidelines, UMass will NOT have fans in attendance at any game. My advice is to start drinking heavily... No... it’s to buy a subscription to CBS All-Access (hockey) and ESPN+ (basketball) to watch non-televised games, assuming there are games.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:30 am Can't have in person attendance until the state says so. It's mind boggling.

The press release from Athletics announcing the UMass A-14 schedule noted that fans will not be permitted at athletic events this season.
UMass Athletics announced that it will not host fans at its home events until further notice. The decision was made following consultation with local public health and university officials and in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order prohibiting large capacity venues from opening to the public.
The release also mentioned something about selling “virtual season tickets” with no information in regards to what that actually means.

Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
Y'all got to cut 'em some slack this season. Nothing is normal. Bamford and his team are trying to put schedules together, protect their athletes from COVID, and maybe if there's time see if they can figure out a way to generate revenue.
Plan to watch on TV this season.

Agreed. There’s no playbook for what they are doing. I also am planning on a heavy dose of ESPN+ and CBS All Access.

UMass02 and I seem to be the only ones cutting them slack...

Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season
Add me to the "slack cutters" list. What do people expect them to do about season tickets when they have no idea if there will be spectators? The athletic dept. has limited control over the situation. That falls to the state (Charlie Baker) who has been very cautious thus far.

Hockey release said games will be provided free of charge for this season. Hope A10 follows suit.UMass02 wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 2:50 pm Agreed. There’s no playbook for what they are doing. I also am planning on a heavy dose of ESPN+ and CBS All Access.
