No, I’m happy to answer. I’m actually not fascinated by you, Niles. I realize this must be a bit disappointing given the urgency to share your views on twitter, message boards, and podcasts. Rather, I’m fascinated by the Dunning-Kruger effect that you so well represent.NilesGold wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:30 am I'm not sure why I continue to be a subject of fascination/discussion for you. No need to answer that here though...

Re: 2020 Recruiting
I got this in an EMail today from a site called "CollegeAD". Love the quip about Cal.
Report: NCAA Expected to Approve One-Time Transfer Waiver
Per Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press, in addition to moving toward granting student-athletes rights to their image and likeness, the NCAA is expected to approve a new one-time transfer waiver, both of which are expected to go into effect next season.
This rule is scheduled to be voted on May 20.
The one-time transfer rule open the door to what essentially amounts to college basketball free agency, providing Kentucky coach John Calipari with a potential host of new options to choose from.

Re: 2020 Recruiting
I’m hearing that they will give immediate eligibility to transfers however, they won’t be able to play until January 2021, which I’m ok with.

Re: 2020 Recruiting
Because they wanna be nice by allowing immediate eligibility, but not be too nice. Typical NCAA behavior.

[The vote for the one-time transfer waiver has NOT been postponed until January. It is STILL slated for May 20, per MAC commissioner Jon Steinbracher. "No decision has been made either way,” he told me. But still a chance it can go into effect for the season.]
Re: 2020 Recruiting
I suppose anything is possible, but nothing I've read suggested this. I don't think they're contemplating it going into effect in January... it would either give immediate eligibility for the start of 20-21 or the start of 21-22.inthescoop wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:21 pm I’m hearing that they will give immediate eligibility to transfers however, they won’t be able to play until January 2021, which I’m ok with.

I think the NCAA was not clear initially, they clarified after.inthescoop wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 8:36 am I guess I just understood this tweet incorrectly. https://twitter.com/jonrothstein/status ... 35203?s=21

Re: 2020 Recruiting
Looks like the proposed transfer rule might be in jeopardy. How might this factor into Fernandez? He'll need a waiver to play immediately, I believe... chances of that happening? If it doesn't, does that change your opinion of the forcing out/nudging out/booting out/kindly suggesting he leave/whatever you call it of Sean East?

Nope. It was interesting to here tre allude to the fact that not everyone was completely bought in last year despite what it may have seem from the outside. I have a feeling Sean might have been one of those guysInnervisionsUMASS wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:55 pm Looks like the proposed transfer rule might be in jeopardy.
