^ I'm not familiar with his career prior to about a year ago. In AAU last year over 15 games he played about 25 mpg and averaged less than 3 apg. At Brewster he's often not the primary ball-handler or initiator/creator on their offense.

He could certainly be a PG, he might be the best PG and overall guard on our roster next year, I dont think I'm in any sort of position to make a determination with any sort of conviction.

I don't see why Hima or any big with aspirations would come here to play behind Tre probably for two years. I think a grad transfer would be perfect because then the following year we could offer a better situation to a talented big.

^ What grad transfer big is going to want to spend his final year backing up Tre?

Someone from the region who wasn't getting many minutes anyway

^ Most freshmen big don't play much regardless, so I don't think this is a bad situation to come into, and who knows how many years Tre will be here, might only be 1.

Personally, I think their best bet to get a quality player who can backup Tre, is to get someone who can also play alongside Tre - not just strictly a back to the basket center. From the little I've seen of Jabari Walker he might be an appealing pickup that fits that mold.

Most people transfer to improve their situation, not necessarily to move to a similar one. Most grad transfers in particular seem to transfer for one of two reasons - they get little playing time and transfer to get a bigger role... or they get a lot of playing time on a bad team and transfer to get into a better program and presumably still have a big role. UMass doesn't fill either of those, and grad big men are always in very short supply.

I saw Corey Evans now thinks Pitt is in a good spot for Odukale -- although he said we have a better shot than most people think. Or something like that. It was in his Tuesday mailbag column where he always seems to answer questions about, Pitt, Duke, Kentucky, and UConn.

With all of the conference tournaments cancelled, and probably the NCAA tourney as well, we might find out sooner than later about 2020 recruits. The next signing period starts on April 15 but I hope the drama doesn't last until then.

I watched a good bit of the Brewster Academy game this morning. Javohn Garcia will be an impact player for UMass. Played very well against top notch competition in the National Prep Championship semifinals.
Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Hey Bub, what kind of size does it look like he has. I've seen him listed as 6-2, and other places 6-4, 6-5

I couldn't honestly tell. He is skilled and athletic though and looks to be a hell of a defender.

Here's the Brewster roster. That's as good as anything else we have to go by. He's listed as 6'4. I'm still blown away by the number of high major guards on the roster.

Javohn was the first player off the bench and played significant minutes both at the point and off the ball. He really attacked the basket for follow ups and had a nice breakaway slam.
