Either they really love their team or there’s nothing else to do in Dayton.

Re: 2018-2019 Prediciton Thread
They have four consecutive NCAA appearances (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). Eight of their past 10 seasons have gone to postseason (5 NCAA, 3 NIT), prior to last year that would have been 9 appearances in 10 seasons. Also excluding last year they've haven't had a losing season since 2005-06. They haven't had a below 0.500 coach since the early 90s.eldonabe wrote: Tue Nov 13, 2018 3:55 pm
Yes - Dayton.....
I know they were Ok for a few years, but on the whole - a full barn and an average team.
I'd hardly call that an average team.
If UMass did that we probably wouldn't have 11,500 STH like Dayton, but we'd probably have more than the 3,000 or whatever it is now.

Well seeing as we don't have a basketball arena that can hold 11,500 people, I don't think it would be possible to have that may STH in the first place

2 months late in replying to this....just trying to diversify my picks here. That'd definitely what I was thinking.MJatUM wrote: Thu Oct 11, 2018 10:25 amI'm not certain here but I don't know if it is mathematically possible to finish third in the conference at 10-8... Unless 1&2 go 18-0 and 17-1 it might be. Where's McKinney I need to light the Stats-Signal

Well it looks like we have the answer to my question above, it apparently takes just 7 wins and a 5 game losing streak for the wheels to come flying off the bus...UMass'96 wrote: Tue Oct 09, 2018 2:34 pm All of you are setting yourself up for failure and disappointing expectations.
Sure, it's fun to predict wins, but when the team doesn't meet them then the board will turn into a dumpster fire.
There is nothing in the recent past to expect success. If the football team has taught us anything about expectations based on previous seasons, we should really temper our expectations and just let it play out.
Rather than predictions, the better question should be (although defeatist in nature) what is the minimum that you will accept before ditching support for the coach / team.
If we get to 15 wins I'll be happy. less than 15 is cause for concern...
