For those who are hoping that we're gonna get any of that $1MM...
KELSEY SUIT UNLIKELY — According to the memorandum of understanding obtained by the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Pat Kelsey’s tenure at UMass wasn’t set to begin until April 1.

Kelsey, who famously accepted the Minuteman coaching job, pulled out on March 23, making it unlikely UMass will pursue legal action against him.

That's just sad, you don't accept a job and back out last minute using the cover of "Personal Reasons." I wonder what those personal reasons were????
Regardless of whether he was here 30 years or 30 minutes, he signed the contract. and all the legal jargon attached to it.
Try backing out of a Mortgage or an Car Purchase after you sign the contract.
Umass should pursue the money that is owed to them.

Not always, but in most cases the seller will allow for you to back out. Especially if you have a private conversation with them and there are in fact personal reasons for you to back out. Your overall point that they should pursue money I do agree with though.

What Kelsey's deal would have looked like (McCall's should be similar):

Wish it had the home and home deal like Rhoades has with VCU if McCall leaves to a bigger school.

It pretty much sounds identical to what Kellogg had, with a few dollar figures being different.

So did we offer Kelsey or McCall more?

I think we offered McCall the same as Kelsey, but McCall took $50k less from somwhere to bump up the compensation for his assistants.

^ A 15-point loss.

Looks like they we have two opponents in common with Winthrop this season, Georgia and VCU.

I like what I have seen so far from MM and I'm not normally a spiteful person, but a 6-24 season for Winthrop would make me smile. I drove up for the "no show" press conference and wasted 2 1/2 hours of my time so that's my payback.

Winthrop is off to an 0-2 start. :D :D :D :D :D
Colorado State rallies past Winthrop 80-76
Two Nych Smith free throws put Winthrop up 50-36 with 15:06 left in the game. But Colorado state chipped away at the lead until two Anthony Bonner free throws tied it at 65 with 7:09 left. Carvacho's layup 68 seconds later gave the Rams (2-0) a 69-68 lead and they never trailed again.
