Honestly, I think the best part about this commitment is that he has played here in New England. It has been mentioned before, but the way we are going to build this program up is by bringing in top talent from the north east. This is just the start. Way to go coach!!

Looks like a great addition. I like the programs we competed with.

^ Quick and good hands in that video.

Same height but 30 pounds more than Gresham. Looks like a perfect answer to backup power forward for us. ESPN has scout grade of 76, Gresham last year a 78 so very comparable coming out.

Re: KAEO: Khalea Turner-Morris
This is the free write up about him on espn. He is already built like an upperclassman, we will have some big bodies to throw at teams this year. Maybe not the athletic high flying big men, but UMass will have the strong body throwback bigs (which I am a big fan of)
Turner is a big-bodied insider who plants himself on the low block and is difficult to move. He can score from inside with either hand and is a terrific rebounder. He's also shown the ability to knock down 14-15' jumpers. Moves will inside with good hands and feet.

Was this on anybody's radar? Seems like the commitment came out of nowhere. Needless to say, sounds like a nice pickup!

Re: KAEO: Khalea Turner-Morris
Looks like he must have reclassified as 2017 from 2016 from what I can make out. See articles about him being recruited by schools like UTEP in 2016.

I like guys with that extra year of maturity, helps physically and mentally. Also have seen his weight anywhere from 240-265, that's a big body. We have some serious size.

Dig it. Pick up new NOLA area player to replace one of the two we lost. Welcome, Khalea! Geaux, Minutemen!

Just from the short video he seems to have some pretty good skill to go along with a D1 ready body. Hopefully we can add one more g/f type guy even if it's a grad transfer. I'd like to get to 9 scholarship players plus the walk-ons.

Nice pickup......nice to have our front court seemingly set for next year. On the surface, this kid has the body to at least play some minutes from the jump. More than likely the main reason he's on board, opportunity to play a ton as a freshman.
Reading that UTEP write up was encouraging, seems like a lot of good programs were after him.

Re: KAEO: Khalea Turner-Morris
Great signing. Looks pretty athletic for a kid his size and that was a position of need. Give the staff credit for sneaking one in on us. I don't recall seeing his name before today. I'm also glad to see that our NOLA pipeline is not terminated and nice to see a NEPSAC signing. That's the pipeline of the future. All we need from Khalea this year is 10-15 minutes a game backing up Chris. In case you can't tell, I'm really pleased with this.
From HoopDreams Report on New Hampton:
From HoopDreams Report on New Hampton:
Senior forwards Walker Miller (Dartmouth) and Khalea Turner-Morris are a force to be reckoned with down below. Miller is unstoppable when he wants to put back, and Turner-Morris will block any shot within his range, not to mention he has a college ready body, and can pull in rebounds

Gotta love this quote and this signing.Matty V wrote:“My strength is back to the basket, pick and roll. I’m an energy guy,” he said. “I’m a throwback player. I like doing the dirty work inside.”
Hope the guys who were getting nervous take a breath.
MM seems to be doing a helluva job.
