KAEO DeJon Jarreau (2016)
Re: KAEO DeJon Jarreau (2016)
I thought DJ was an honor student coming in, and Brison had some eligibility issues relating to grade transfers? Could possibly affect transferring together maybe

Re: KAEO DeJon Jarreau (2016)
Is seems a unlikely there are a lot of colleges that would take both he and Brison as a package deal this time around and tie up two scholarships for next season. It will be interesting to see what options they have if they intend on sticking together.

My thoughts exactly. They may have to either transfer to a lower level conference program in order to stick together, or each go their own way. We'll see.

They would have to go somewhere if they had academic troubles because their schollys here wold be gone.. had their chance
Re: KAEO DeJon Jarreau (2016)
I don't think it's that big a deal and a school that is heavily loaded on seniors with a couple open slots should definitely try and sign them. You're telling me if UMass had the opportunity to sign these 2 had they picked Miami a couple years ago and then transferred out we would be saying no?

They will have options but I wonder how many P6 schools would take both. I'm not saying none will but as a duo they might have limited P6 options where as if Jarreu was alone he'd have his pick of schools. Whether UMass would or world not take any packaged duo with a 4* player included is irrelevant because Umass likely would jump at the chance if presented but Umass isn't exactly in the position that other colleges are in with better conference and a better overall roster right now. Pretty much any colleges outside the P6 with room would welcome these two with open arms but they could end up in weaker conference.

Right, sorry I wasn't disagreeing that the package deal definitely limits their options, just that I disagree that a team with 2 open slots wouldn't take them because they have to sit out a season. The Duke's and Syracuse's and Michigan State's of the world were never in on them to begin with, but I think middle of the pack (or lower) P6 schools are definitely in contention. Especially if they fit the criteria I described a few posts above.

Maybe they'll end up at Chattanooga?

I still say Creighton though.

Entirely possible...going from Kellogg to McDermott would be quite the adjustment though.fenway617 wrote:How about at Winthrop?baseline47 wrote:Maybe they'll end up at Chattanooga?![]()

^ Doesn't Creighton have a great point guard who can run the offense team w/o turning the ball over? He was injured and didn't play in the NCAA tournament. Would Jarreau have to beat him out, or will he be gone when Jarreau becomes eligible? Also, Jarreau wasn't the best freshman guard in the A10 last year. Don't know if he'd be a stand out guard in the Big East.

These guys are definitely good players who will be welcome to many programs. Wish they had stayed to see what this young group could have become, but hope they do well. I think Brison will blossom under the right coach. Wish he stayed

It's interesting to me that Deekys Twitter feed has had a lot more posts about enjoying the Amherst college life since they announced their intention to transfer. I wonder if they will end up regretting their decision down the line.
The grass isn't always greener. That being said, I wish them the best of luck.
