Looks like Donte is pulling the old Anthony Gurkey

I'm looking at this two ways.

Maroon Colored Glasses: Auditions for NBA scouts. They tell him what he needs to improve. He and MM have already discussed that MM would work with him developing the areas he needs to work on.

The other side: Donte has had enough of college and goes to play in Europe or some other foreign spot when he finds out he isn't getting drafted.

^I think the key is not hiring an agent. If he had one foot out the door and wanted to go pro now he'd hire an agent to at least start getting oversea's connections.
Hire Matt McCall!

I agree with bmc, doing what Anthony Gurley did. Smart move actually. I bet he's back

Good for him, and hopefully good for us!

UMass guard Donte Clark tells me he will graduate and transfer. Immediately eligible. Averaged 12.6 PPG. Will also test NBA Draft process.

There it is. This one is kind of a bummer to me, but not going to kill us.

Hoped he would stay, but in the big picture, I don't think he will be missed at all. Wonder if McCall will fill all 4 spots or leave one or two open. Wish him well.

Must be why McCall has been as active as he has been on the JUCO and transfer scene.

I echo the sentiments already expressed. Would have loved to see him stay, but I'm more focused on the young guys. Really hope this is the end of the line as far as transfers go and that we can just hand the keys to the future to the young guys.

I wished he would stay.
Besides his benefit to the team as an already valuable asset, I would have appreciated seeing his development under a true "teacher/developer coach."
And a coach who is better at his x's and o's.

Donte has unfulfilled potential.

I hope he finds what he needs wherever he goes.
