^ I've seen a lot ofthat in the summer games. Guys seem to think that simply scoring may get them a closer look. I hope that's not the case. The other night I thought Raph displayed a solid all around game, including a nifty pass to a guy under the hoop, to go wtih his points.

Anyone who would bet me that one day I would be watching an NBA Summer League game at 12:45 am would be collecting some serious coin at pretty big odds right about now. Cavs move on to the round of eight, coming back from an 18-point first-half deficit (and some serious ESPN announcer L.A. bias) to an eight point victory. Put's stat line of three points and four rebounds don't jump out at you, but his +14 in nearly 21 minutes (including almost the entire fourth quarter) shows his role in the victory. I think the offensive plan for him was to keep outside the arc to extend the defense giving the guards McRae and Felder the chance to rack up their 36 and 20 points respectively.

^ Didn't stay up past halftime so I missed the comeback. I did see Putney blow a gimme layup in the first half. Good luck to him in the next game.

That's too bad. 2 of Put's biggest faults at Umass were his inability to finish around the rim (this does not include alley oops or uncontested dunks) and his tendency to foul 90 feet from the basket.

Watched the game last night and Putney had a solid showing, came up with a very clutch 3 at the end to tie things up. The 1 announcer kept calling him Poot-ney.

They've been doing it all summer. You'd think they'd get it right by now.

For you Mullins Center regulars, did our own George Miller ever get into the embellished Poot-nee call? Seems like an easy thing to get sucked into.

I watched a little of the game, nice to see Putney stay in for the last stretch as they were within reach. I guess McRae was their go to guy who didn't get it done. Putney had a chance to drain a 3pointer to make it a 1 point game but missed. He had a nice finish layin with an and 1 a few minutes before. Hope he gets picked up somewhere.

^

I watched a video of him a bit earlier today on Twitter... same title as the link you just shared, but a different video. Anyways, I'm impressed by the confidence he seems to have in his shot and game now. There's little to no hesitation in his game, it seems. And his footwork seems much improved as well... the way he is able to do a step back now seems a lot better than what he was able to do in college.

It looks like he has put a LOT of work into his game and it is paying off. Well done!
