Game 29 (2015-16): Boston University
BU on Friday in the Mullins Center. We lost 7-2 at BU in our first meeting with them this season. The Beanpot is this Monday and next Monday, so if BU wins tomorrow night maybe they'll overlook UMass on Friday in anticipation of playing in the championship game on Monday. IMO, it's the only chance we have of winning this game. It looks the the team has given up playing for Mick, and it is clear that Mick is completely ineffective at motivating his troops (they obviously have a little more talent than what we've seen recently). GO UMASS!!!

BU's record between Beanpot games is stellar. Although many of those games have been against us.

You're ruining the "Looking Ahead To The Beanpot Myth" piece I was thinking of writing this week.

So where is all the comments about the game tonight? Any chance we could squeeze out a win?

0-1 -- 57 seconds into the game!

0-2. Henry Dill out, Renyard in. Less than 3 minutes played. This is a frigging travesty.

0-3. still more than 15 minutes left in the first period. This team has COMPLETELY QUIT on its coach. Great strategic move by Mick to call a timeout. Right now this team is the perfect definition of going through the motions.

1-3 -- Pigozzi on the power play

1-4 -- 53 seconds left in the first period. This has become another trademark of this team. Allowing goals early and late in periods.

1-5 -- BU power play goal. Still in second.

3-6 final. I give them credit as they played hard in the third period. Here's a good talking point for Mick tonight: "We played them even after the first 5 minutes of the game......"
That's 9 straight losses. Last win was January 2. Hopefully they can beat AIC, the worst team in D1 hockey, on Tuesday night.

I don't understand the thought process that goes through a player with a one year renewable scholarship to quit on his team. If a new coach is hired they can dump all the dogs and start fresh. How does a player expect someone else to give him a valuable scholarship if they have already proven that they will quit if things aren't going well.78 wrote:This team has COMPLETELY QUIT on its coach. When awarding scholarships, talent is only part of the package. The hockey player mentality is so transient and individualistic, that you really need to investigate who you are getting.
