if people don't think problem with last year was DG your crazy. I don't think anyone cares he was gay(mean that as it not being a big deal- don't flip out PC police) but I think he shouldn't have started or played much - he honestly brings nothing outside of decent defense. But DK would have had the rainbow picketers at his door if he did so. I think all his teammates were fed up with him promoting his brand, I don't fault him cause he won't be making much $$ playing basketball

This is why I don't pay any attention to Rudy Huxtable.

Like most on this board I was excited when DG transfered from WK and became a Minuteman. Now that he has decided to leave UM and head to the Hall, I wish him well. He was a mediocre player on a mediocre team during his time here. I rooted for him and hoped he played well for our team. But as Rudy pointed out, he has left us as he left WK. He will be forgotten from this board and probably from our general consciuosness from this point on, unless the "first D1 coming out" thing lasts longer then I expect. Let's please move on from this discussion as the team will move on. DG is easily replaceable on offense and hopefully the team will cover what he gave us on D. Go UMass, enjoy your MDW.

If it was all about the individual over either "team", then that's not a good way to go about things but I don't see how any of us can know one way or another what his real motivations are.

Good luck to him. I hope he succeeds at whatever he tries to do, basketball or otherwise.
This is laughable beyond belief. You really have to a diseased state of mind to live this crap.
Are you saying I have a diseased state of mind based on my post? Or are you talking about DG having the diseased state of mind?

Don't worry man, Rudy has posted some anti-gay comments on this board before.

I like your philosophy and view on the Gordon situation, xlgman, but of course, to each their own.

This should/will die down for a while, but I am betting on a book, I am also betting that in order to sell said book some stories of the negative will have to be told including the "support" he received at UMass. That book cannot be written if it is all puppies and kittens - no adversity, no sales... I say DK gets all kinds of props for his support and some teammates get skewered....

Good call on the book. I think that is an absolute given that he writes a book within 3 years.

Just mind blowing how some people think. Putting yourself above the team at the expense of the team is acceptable? The party line (which I agree to) in the workplace is diversity breeds the ability to secure the widest pool of talent thereby increasing productivity. And if you're not a part of the team I want you off the team. PC gone wild.

You want to fire DG as if he's freelancing on company time. In reality, we have no evidence suggesting he isn't working as hard as anyone else on his basketball team so there really isn't any reason to begrudge DG's public involvement in a cause he believes in.

And for those of you that want to cite his poor jump shot as evidence that he isn't working hard enough on his game? I'd say every player has some weaknesses that need work and every one of them finishes their career with some of those weaknesses still clearly apparent. Just check any one of the KAEO threads for former players and you'll see they all still sucked at something!

I know for a fact that DG was a gym rat. There's a reason why some people here think he could be a middle linebacker on the football team  The kid worked his ass off. He clearly improved his FT shooting this past season. As for his jump shot, I'm sure a lot of that is psychological.

Guys, I'd be careful. You never know what could happen when you mess with The Patriot.

Not only that. But all our comments are going to end up in the book that he's publishing in 3 years.
