Seton Hall is a possible landing spot

So where is Sterling Gibbs going? Maybe a swap?

Nothing says a 'winning' basketball program quite like Seton Hall.

The author is obviously not aware of DG's NBA aspirations. Although his projection of a 6th man who can defend and impact a game without taking a lot of shots is a very accurate description of DG.

Seton Hall is closer to his home which was the whole reason why he said he wanted to leave W. Kentucky in the first place. But if he is leaving Umass to be a 6th man, play defense and not be an offensive option off the bench for a team that is no better than UMass, well then that is just comical for a future NBA draft pick.

The 6-foot-3 Gordon would be a good fit as a sixth-man hustle player who could guard various positions, get to the rim and impact games without having to take a ton of shots.

Seton Hall may be an odd choice for Gordon

Congrats to Derrick! Gets the chance to stay close to home, having his brother and family able to watch him, and get the opportunity to play in a big time conference. Best of luck!

^^article says DG shot 44% from beyond the arc in his two seasons at UMass. The author should get his keyboard checked, I think his "4" key is sticking

^ He shot 44% from the floor in his 2 years, not from 3 as we all know. He shot 48% his first year and only 40% last year.

"During the recruiting process, a number of schools didn't want me because I'm gay," Gordon said. "To me, that's blatant homophobia. At the end of the day, no coaches will ever admit that they don't want me because I'm gay and there's baggage that comes with the attention.

"Honestly, it caught me off-guard. It really hurt. It had me stressing, crying.
So let me get this straight.

1. Schools didn't want you because you were gay, which is "blatant" homophobia. (Not because your not that good)
2. No coach will ever admit they don't want you because your gay. (So you read their minds about the blatant homophobia)
3. This made you cry.

Sorry DG and the UMass PC police. They didn't want you because your not half as good as you think you are, in addition you're melodramatic, have delusions of grandeur, and rather ungrateful

Go ahead, call me names. I'm really happy for guys like Trey and Jabari and CJ. I think they will bond and grow with more minutes and not having to deal with this drama. It is evident to me who the chemistry cancers were on this team.

^ I probably shouldn't pursue this, but what the hell... Clearly you think it's evident that Gordon had a negative influence on team chemistry. Do you think there were/are others?

I think some of what you said about Gordon is more likely than not accurate, maybe even all of it, but I also have to acknowledge that I simply don't know for sure.

He wasn't heavily recruited because he is a below average offensive player, a poor shooter, and commits too many turnovers. On defense he is good so he will help the team on defense. That is why more teams didn't seek him out, he is to one dimensional.

Gordon has a ton of self-confidence about his ability and he clearly thinks of himself as a better player than everyone else.
