^ They didn't give to much hype for Froh and consider AJ the 10th best player on the team were my surprises . . . otherwise fair!

In 1998 Coach Whipple's UMass Minutemen were predicted in the pre season to finish near the bottom of the A10. We won the National Championship. WE have had 2 difficult transition seasons. We have had an excellent off season in terms of upgrading personnel, coaching and facilities. I would not be surprised to see this team exceed expectations.

Is it ever too early to talk lines? So I saw that CG Technology (formerly Cantor gaming) put out a line for each game of the opening weekend. And to my astonishment they have us -11... No clue what they know but i'm tempted to put my house on BC for that game, haha. They have BC winning 5 games all year.

They'll probably let you bet 5 bucks at that number. Realistic line is going to be closer to 17.

It looks like the max wager is $1,000. Still, a grand that we won't win by 11 points? I'd seriously consider playing that.

I'm sure that's the max bet but I'd love to know if you could actually bet that much giving 11. My guess is no, they would move the line on you.

According to Maroon Musket, Drew Harris is eligible to play this year. He'll be a sophomore.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

Bob McGovern is good and I thank him for the excellent job he does keeping the masses up to date on what's happening at McGuirk.

I would argue that when you include the juco guys and grad students we have the best set of newcomers in the MAC.. We have a huge advantage early on because there is no way to gameplan for us other than watch tape from whips first stint at Umass... If things click we could be in for a surprise

Still would love a confirmation that Sifrin is coming. Agree about game planning, although Whip has evolved a lot since leaving UMass, been places that has only added to his craft. Although I caution thinking we will out scheme BC......coach Brown is no joke, the man likes to dictate the game on defense and will keep our guys guessing

I agree about Sifirin... Huge piece of the team. I'll feel a lot better when he is in Amherst.

I love this quote from the story:

“Coach Whipple, he’s a great guy,” said junior wide receiver Tajae Sharpe. “He treats us great. He brings a great vibe to the whole program in general. He’s an amazing guy, we’re all glad to have him and we feel like he will definitely put us in the right position on the field.”

Think this says anything about the the used car salesman no longer coaching the team?
