Taylor is going to be wearing #2.
So isn't Ross Comis and Quayshun Smith according to UMassathletics.com. Did Taylor tweet that or something? There is no number for him on the website.
UMass '10 but I run with the '06 class

Let's just hope the roster isn't 100% accurate. I am guessing Jean will have a number assigned once camp starts in August. Probably has to find different living arrangements if he has sole custody of his son.

Yeah Taylor tweeted that.
Comis is red shirting, so they can give him any number since he won't be on the field this year.
Smith is on defense so he can wear #2 since him and Taylor won't be on the field at the same time. Happens all the time in college football.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

Bob McG had this tidbit in his write up today on the Offense:
The wild card is Drew Harris, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound back who was at one time a four-star recruit out of Pennsylvania. Harris was one of the last two signees from the 2014 class. It's unclear if Harris can play right away, but if he can, there's zero doubt that the ball will come his way.
My guess is that Harris probably has to pass a summer class or two to meet eligibility requirements

We have A LOT of QB's. Why wouldn't we red shirt him and have that extra year?
I mean if Blake gets hurt and Ross is the next best then we obviously have to play him, but I think the plan right now would be to red shirt Ross.

I certainly hope this doesn't touch off a shitstorm like it has in the past, but I'm interested to see how Todd Stafford has progressed and how he will function in Whip's offense.
Not saying he is/ should be ahead or behind Doyle. I'm just saying with his size and arm strength I'd like to see him fling it around.

Neither one will be our starting QB if we want to win any games.

Sorry...I should have been clearer...the discussion was about Comis playing in the event of injury to Froh. never meant to imply I thought he should start. There is no doubt in my mind that Whip will start whoever he feels gives UMass the best chance to score points. After talking to some of the coaches at the signing day event, they all were very excited to see Froh get here.

why would this set off a shitstorm? Its cool that you are interested in seeing Stafford develop. Me too. He has done nothing so far in a game, therefore it would be interesting to see if he can play. Doyle has had numerous opportunities and continues to receive opportunities to improve. One thing is certain now that Whipple is in charge: The Bullshit and excuse making is over. Whomever can play QB the best will start. Based on what I have seen the best QB on the roster is Froh.

The advertising has begun. I have seen ads for the BC game on TV and heard on sports talk radio.
