Free throws. Make them and you win, miss them and you lose. Hopefully this helps them re-focus for the end of the season.

and I say it every game....box out. Very, very hard to win when you give up 13 offensive boards.

Agree with all of the that. The best game Cady played in some time, foul trouble hurt him in the 2nd. Trey was good, not great. I thought DG was our best player for awhile but then he went to the bench for 5-6 minutes, and it really hurt us. Samp was GREAT for the first 10 minutes or so then he was himself. Put was a complete non-factor. He had been really helping on the boards but he was no where to be found. I'm concerned about Maxie, just hasn't been the same since the concussion. TBerg never really bothered me, he was what he was, but lately he's hurting us every time he's in. It's one thing to come in and be a body, but when he starts to hurt us then I'd rather go with a smaller lineup.

Well, we shot 72% from FT line which is one of our best this year (our best?). Dayton only shot 64% and they won.

I was surprised to see TBerg playing so many minutes. I pegged this as a team to play a smaller, faster lineup.

I get what you are saying 87...Dayton did execute well and there's something to that. They were getting whatever they wanted for long stretches and some of that you do have to credit good execution. I'm just not sure what we took away from them. They were getting good looks and scoring at all levels. I think as a coach if you see something isn't working at either end of the floor you switch it up. Not sure we ever did that. So I guess I'm saying yes Dayton executed well, but we still allowed them to be comfortable. It's concerning because to me it's similar to the GMU games.

Just 6 assists on 26 made shots isn't great.

Jackson96 - that's partly why I am confused by the use of TBerg. I think DK should have used Dyson or Berger if he needed another body just for speed's sake.

Yeah he certainly didn't help us out there today.

Dayton is pretty good offensively -- they do a lot of things well. That said, 50 points in half is tough to stomach.

If you want ugly try watching ConU and Cincy. THAT is an ugly game!

Having said that, I LOVE Napier's game.

Other than the St. Joe's loss, this was their most disappointing and discouraging loss of the season. Mainly because it was totally winnable if Chaz Williams, Wooden Award candidate and A-10 First Teamer, had shown up sometime before 12:45 p.m. today. While I agree with twisters and others that overreaction is unjustified, let's go to the scorecard:

(1) Terrible substitution patterns by DK, especially keeping Gordon out of the game so long in the second half. It also seemed like Trey didn't come into the game early enough, but maybe there weren't opportunities. Oh, and last but not least, THERE ARE TIMES, CRAZY AS IT SOUNDS, WHEN CHAZ SHOULD BE ON THE BENCH.

(2) Putney is a ghost. Forget trying to get 10 points out of the guy. I understand these are young men and the pressure of scoring 1,000 points or other milestones messes with their heads, but he seriously didn't do much of anything.

(3) Esho hit some big FTs late but otherwise was also a non-factor.

(4) Trey, our best FT shooter, missed two shots down the stretch that were absolute killers. Great rocks the rest of the game, but it's coming to the point where every point from him is essential, not a surprising luxury.

(5) Sampson has been discussed already. Great start to get us going, but this was a prime example of not "letting the game come to you."

(6) DG was the man today, and I'm proud he's worked on his FT stroke. But if you noticed, he was back front-rimming them with the messed up shot at the end. Back to the gym...

(7) We are one of the best in the country in not even ALLOWING teams to take 3s, and then we force them into a low 3-point percentage. Dayton jacked up 20 and made 9, for 45%. Abysmal.

8 Last but not least, Chaz sucked today. If I was one of his teammates, I'd be pissed with how he "led" the team and "ran" the offense for much of the game. He's won a lot of games for this program, saved DK's job, and is the main reason why we're probably Tourney-bound. But as we sing his praises when they win and he crushes it, he's got to take a massive amount of responsibility today.

(9) We would've been in the Top 25 with a win, virtually guaranteed. We flushed that down the shitter. I know a lot of you don't care about stuff like that, but others of us do. And it's more great exposure for the program.

FINALLY, and most depressingly, we've got a Duquesne team that just went on the road and beat the No. 10 team in the country a few days ago. Then we have the former No. 10 team in the country. This will be Duquesne's first home game since that stunning upset, and it will probably be their senior night since they finish at George Mason. Good luck with the next two games boys, I'll obviously be pulling for ya.

We needed this one. Bad.

Dayton deserved the "W"! They were better prepared (i.e., coached) and played harder. Disappointed with the our effort.

Rebounding. Dayton killed us off the offensive glass. Not Lalanne's fault! He was the only one guarding the basket/rebounding! I don't want to see any crap about him playing "soft"! Pretty much it was Lalanne vs. 5 Flyers under the rim. Re: defense/rebounding - where were Carter and Putney?

Team defense. Poor effort; not many stops. For the most part, Dayton easily broke/attacked our press.

Chaz "stunk the place out". To much dribbling, pretty ugly, and it slowed us down. Might have been better if DK sat him.

Dayton plays 10 or 11. We play 7; 8 if you count Tberg. He gave us "0". Nice kid, but he should transfer to a DII school where he'd start and have some fun).

So, we're essentially 7 deep. Too bad none of the first years can play. Could have used them. Why did DK recruit them?

Gotta agree with 87 here. Think I would have tried using Dyson & Berger a little for a quicker lineup at times.
With Chaz having an off day, thought Trey should have had the ball more late for a three or drives to the lane. best 3 ball guy we have and best FT shooter

Move on and get the next one

^^^^^^^^

Why do you bother watching this team? How the hell does it have a 22-6 record? This is meant for Baseline47.
