If you had told me at the beginning of the season that we would be ranked #22 on December 9th I'd have wept tears of joy. But once you get a taste it makes you hungry for more. I feel SLIGHTED, we extend our perfect record and drop a spot...
Even though this isn't really a big deal, I hope the team uses this as fuel for their "we aren't getting the respect we deserve" fire.

^^
I'm not upset, look at the total votes of the teams around us. Were were just 4 points away from #21 and 39 points away from 20th. But we are 119th ahead of #23 Iowa. The take away, we are closer to the teens than we are to the bottom.
20. Gonzaga 8-1 365 19
21. Colorado 9-1 330 —
22. UMass 8-0 326 21
23. Iowa 9-1 207 23

GW should be getting more respect. They have a very good squad this year.Dickie Dunn wrote:Forgot to add:

Unfortunate that things fell like they did last, with few teams losing ahead of us. I'd like us to get up into the 15-17 range, where we can withstand a reasonable loss without dropping out of the rankings. When you are in the 20's, you have no margin for error. Not sure a win over UNI will get us much more respect, nor should it, so we rely on others losing this week for a chance to move up next week, when our schedule jumps back up a few notches.
Looking ahead, if we win the next three, we should really jump. We haven't gotten everyone's attention yet, and that would do it.

I'd love to enter conference play at 12-1. 11-2 would be slightly disappointing at this point, but in the big picture I think we all would have signed up for it in October.
What's great is that I wouldn't be surprised at all with 13-0. It's probably at least tied for the likeliest outcome.
