schedule

Post by Ewan's Dad » Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:41 pm

Official schedule has been released, although not on umassathletics.com yet.

I don't think there are any surprises. Nice to have an ACC team coming to Mullins even if it is Fla. St. Good to see Northeastern and BU on the sked as well as BC. Birmingham Southern? awwww, I wanted Birmingham Northern.

The schedule is up

Going though the schedule quickly I predict a 16-11 record.

with 17 home games vs. 10 away, that could seem feasible (18 counting the exhibition game).

no CCSU...heh

I'll give them 1-1 in the A-10 tourney for a 10-19 record and finally a pink slip for you-know-who.

Sorry, but as long as he's coaching this team (and I use the term loosely), I have zero confidence that he can movitate them.

Hmm, there's a couple of weekend games I could make (I'd probably make it to Yale). The games I'd like to see either conflict with hockey or are on weeknights.

I really hope single ticket prices come a bit down from $20. Season ticket prices have come down almost $100, or roughly 30%. Why can't the single tickets come down by the same percentage? I wouldn't mind paying $14 to catch a game or two.

Boy I'll tell you what.....this is the earliest we have ever gotten an official schedule out of UMass. Normally we're waiting until October to see one!!

I think that they should go 17-10. But they won't.
You know, say what you will about America, 13 bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice.

If you are a member of the Alumni Association and they do what they did last year, you can get in cheap. The ticket cost $20. The AA gave tickets to members for $10. You call up, tell the what game you want and how many tickets, give them a credit card number and you can pick the tickets up at the will call window on the day or before. I have not seen if they will do it this year, but my guess is they will.
They may not be great, but they won't be boring!

Is anyone else at all concerned or more so disappointed about the BC home game falling on Sunday January 2nd, this date will surely cut attendance in half not to mention the % of students not making the trek in. All in all I think the team schedule and record at this point in time is very similar to that of last year when predictions ranged from good to bad to ugly, if these guys grow and gel it could be the turning point.

This schedule blows. The only two conference games on the weekend when students are at the school are against Duquesne and the welders (and maybe Richmond). The 2 best non-conference games (in my opinion) are on a Thurs. (UConn) and on Jan. 2 (BC) so the students won't be there. If attendance is one of the factors determining whether Lappas' contract is extended, he's in big trouble.

It's almost like they set the schedule up with that in mind. :?
