Looks like we're opening as 3.5 point underdogs. Sounds about right, I don't see that moving too much before the game...

Not neccessarily...we play Xavier at home in late Feb...believe it's school vaca week...if we continue to do well and win this game tomorrow....that game will draw big as well...

I feel like everyone's take on this game is some variation of:

"Man, it'd be great to play a great game in front of a big crowd. Hope this doesn't go Hindenburg."

^^^ That's pretty much right, Blutrane!

For anyone who will be stuck in NYC and can't make it up to Amherst, I'm planning on heading to Professor Thom's tomorrow, since I assume they get CSNNE.

Losing bad tomorrow would kill student attendance until we made it back to the NCAA. Dayton was sort of a fluke and we didn't expect that many students. But marketing has been all-out for this one and people are hearing good things. Have to put on a good show.

And I'm confident this team will. Predict a 77-72 UMass win with at least 6,500.

Counting down the hours...

We had a week off, where we usually have 3-4 days, so take the # of pre-game posts and divide by 2 8)

We have a handful of games that impact the RPI for UMASS - this is one of them. In my view, we need to win, or hope we go 3 deep in the A10.

Sorry to say I will need to watch this on TV - moving my mother into a nursing home.

GO UMASS. Over achieve - it is ok.

Do you think the General Admission ($6 tix) will be sold out? I'm bringing 2 other friends with me to the game. I can't wait, I just really hope they win this one.

UM is still showing up as dogs, between 3.5 and 4.5, depending where you look.

I didn't get a chance to preview this game properly, but I'm packing up and heading to Amherst in a couple of hours and my UMass roommate (its been 6.5 years, yikes) is making the trip down from Maine for the game.

I always get nervous on days like today - huge chance to make a statement, huge chance to fill the bill for the rest of the season -- don't let this chance slip through your fingers.

See you all at the game.

Back out to Amherst for today's game. I haven't been able to get out since the Quinnipiac game. I'll have the wife in tow, and her younger sister transferred out to UMass this year and she coming to her first game. She's not much of a sports fan, but hopefully we can change that with a good game today.

GO UMASS!!

A great site to find the TV coverage of any college basketball game:

http://mattsarzsports.com/basketball2011/week12.aspx

Game is listed as on Comcast SportsNet New England, CSS and Charter St. Louis.
